Claims
- 1. A herbicidal composition comprising a herbicidally effective amount of N-halogenoacylanolino-fatty acid or the ester derivative thereof represented by the general formula: ##STR23## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl having up to 10 carbon atoms, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, propargyl or cyclohexyl, R.sub.4 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl substituted by 1-4 halogen atoms and Y represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylene, as an effective ingredient, and a herbicidally acceptable inert carrier.
- 2. The herbicidal composition according to claim 1, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR24## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same as defined in claim 1.
- 3. The herbicidal composition according to claim 1, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR25##
- 4. The herbicidal composition according to claim 1, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR26##
- 5. The herbicidal composition according to claim 1, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR27##
- 6. A method of controlling weeds which comprises applying an effective amount of a composition containing N-halogenoacylanilino-fatty acid or the ester derivative thereof of the formula: ##STR28## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl having up to 10 carbon atoms, C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, propargyl or cyclohexyl, R.sub.4 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl substituded by 1 to 4 halogen atoms and Y represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylene, as an effective ingredient, to the weeds.
- 7. A method for controlling the growth of undesirable weeds which comprises applying a herbicidally effective amount of a compound of the formula: ##STR29## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 individually are methyl or ethyl and x is chlorine.
- 8. The method according to claim 1, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR30## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same as defined in claim 6.
- 9. The method according to claim 6, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR31##
- 10. The method according to claim 6, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR32##
- 11. The method according to claim 6, wherein said effective ingredient is the compound of the formula: ##STR33##
