Claims
- 1. A method of preparing a compound of formula I
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein Y is O, S, or NH.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein each of R10 and R11 is H.
- 4. The method of claim 2, wherein R9 is N(R12)(R13).
- 5. The method of claim 4, wherein each of R12 and R13 is, independently, substituted or unsubstituted aryl.
- 6. The method of claim 5, wherein each of R12 and R13 is, independently, selected from the group consisting of phenyl, tolyl, naphthyl, and pyrenyl.
- 7. The method of claim 2, wherein R9 is carbazolyl.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein Y is S .
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein Y is C(R7)=C(R8).
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein each of R15-R17 is methyl.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein each of R15-R17 is butyl.
- 12. A method of forming a hexaarylbenzene, the method comprising contacting a hexahalobenzene with a stannane.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein said hexaarylbenzene is a hexakis-(heteroaryl)benzene.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein said hexakis-(heteroaryl)benzene is a hexakis-(thienyl)benzene.
- 15. The method of claim 14, wherein said hexakis-(thienyl)benzene is a hexakis-(aminothienyl)benzene.
- 16. The method of claim 15, wherein said hexakis-(aminothienyl)benzene is a hexakis-[(diarylamino)thienyl]benzene.
- 17. The method of claim 14, wherein said hexakis-(thienyl)benzene is a hexakis-(carbazolylthienyl)benzene.
- 18. A compound of formula I
- 19. The compound of claim 18, wherein each of R10 and R11 is H.
- 20. The compound of claim 19, wherein R9 is N(R12)(R13).
- 21. The compound of claim 20, wherein each of R12 and R13 is, independently, substituted or unsubstituted aryl.
- 22. The compound of claim 21, wherein each of R12 and R13 is, independently, selected from the group consisting of phenyl, tolyl, naphthyl, and pyrenyl.
- 23. The compound of claim 19, wherein R9 is carbazolyl.
- 24. The compound of claim 18, wherein Y is S.
