Claims
- 1. A glycoprotein functioning as a gamma subunit in a naturally occurring T cell receptor for antigens and MHC gens products when located on the surface of a T lymphocyte, comprising
- a variable region specific for at least one MHC gene product;
- a constant region of a gamma subunit of a naturally occurring T cell receptor comprising an amino acid sequence having substantial identity to a corresponding amino acid sequence in a T lyphocyte from another source;
- a joining region of a gamma subunits of a naturally occurring T cell receptor comprising an amino acid sequence connecting said variable and said constant region;
- a transmembrane region of a gamma subunit of a naturally occurring T cell receptor comprising a sequence of predominantly hydrophobic amino acids; and
- a cytoplasmic region of a gamma subunit of a naturally occurring T cell receptor comprising a sequence of predominantly cationic amino acids; wherein the glycoprotein is not present on a T-cell.
- 2. A glycoprotein comprising:
- a gamma subunit of a naturally occurring T cell receptor comprising a sequence of 286 amino acid residues
- wherein said sequence for the gamma subunit consists of a variable region of 102 amino acid residues, a joining region of 15 amino acid residues between said variable region and a constant region of 135 amino acid residues, a transmembrane region of 21 amino acid residues, and a cytoplasmic region of 12 amino acids; wherein the glycoprotein is not present on a T-cell.
- 3. The constant region of the gamma subunit of a naturally occurring T lymphocyte receptor; wherein the constant region is not present on a T-cell.
