Block 1010 includes providing a main body portion for work gear, such as kneepads, pouch or apron systems, totes, bags, bucket organizers, etc. In block 1020, the relevant portions of the work gear are determined for attaching high visibility material. In block 1030, the relevant portions of the work gear are determined for attaching highly reflective material. In one example, 1) key portions of the work gear are analyzed to determine portions or elements that may need greater visibility than others for helping users to visually locate them during a low light or dark situation; 2) it is determined where portions of highly reflective material (for low light or dark visibility) and high-visibility material (for daylight visibility) will give the best visibility for about 360° around the work gear; and 3) it is determined where the highly reflective material (for low light or dark visibility) and high-visibility material (for daylight visibility) may be added to give additional strength or reinforcement to the work gear. In one embodiment of the invention, when all three of the determinations are maximized, the final determinations of where to place the highly reflective material (for low light or dark visibility) and high-visibility material (for daylight visibility) are made. In one embodiment of the invention, the highly reflective material (for low light or dark visibility) and high-visibility material (for daylight visibility) are combined in one portion of material. In this embodiment of the invention, the determinations of blocks 1020 and block 1030 are separately made, and the matching determinations between the highly reflective material (for low light or dark visibility) and high-visibility material (for daylight visibility) determine the outcome of where to place the combined material.

In one example, based on the type of work gear and the type of use for the work gear, determinations may be different based on the typical scenarios to maximize visibility. For example, if a high-visibility kneepad is used on an aircraft carrier or airport, the visibility requirements would be different than for roadwork. That is, the distance and angles of visibility determine placement, size, and color.

In one embodiment of the invention, the dimensions of the highly reflective material may range from ¼ inch. to 2 inches or more in width, and the length may vary depending on the use and placement. In one embodiment of the invention, the high-visibility material may range from ¼ inch to 2 inches or more in width, and the length may vary depending on the use and placement.
