Claims
- 1. An apparatus for improving digestion rates in a sludge digester which comprises: a circular mixing tank providing an integrally formed ceiling, interior wall surface and floor surface; at least one vertical beam engaged with and extending upwardly from the floor surface; a mixing means engaged for movement along the vertical beam; a plurality of sparger jets protruding radially inwardly from the wall surface and covering at least 70% of the wall surface, for delivering gas flow into the mixing tank; a further plurality of the sparger jets terminating at the floor surface for delivering gas flow into the mixing tank; and a plurality of bubbling diffusers protruding upwardly from the floor surface for delivering gas flow into the mixing tank; the bubbling diffusers arranged in a circular pattern with a diameter equal to approximately ⅔ of the diameter of the mixing tank.
