Claims
- 1. An electrical connector comprising:an outer frame having a top wall with a card edge receiving aperture through the top wall; and a plurality of modules positioned inside the outer frame, the modules being orientated in an adjacent lateral side-by-side configuration relative to each other along an elongate length of the outer frame, each module comprising a housing, an electrical signal contact connected to the housing, and a ground shield connected to the housing, wherein the housings of the modules combine to form a card edge receiving area inside the outer frame, wherein the card edge receiving area is aligned beneath the card edge receiving aperture and is adapted to receive an edge of a printed circuit board, and wherein ground contact arms of the ground shields and contact arms of the electrical signal contacts extend into the card edge receiving area.
- 2. An electrical connector comprising:an outer frame having a top wall with a card edge receiving aperture through the top wall; and a plurality of modules positioned inside the outer frame, the modules being orientated in an adjacent side-by-side configuration, each module comprising a housing, an electrical signal contact connected to the housing, and a ground shield member connected to the housing, wherein the housings of the modules combine to form a card edge receiving area inside the outer frame, wherein the card edge receiving area is aligned beneath the card edge receiving aperture and is adapted to receive an edge of a printed circuit board, wherein the electrical signal contacts extend into the card edge receiving area, and wherein the ground shield members are located between sides of the housings of adjacent modules and located between the housings and the outer frame.
