Claims
- 1. A machine for inserting reselected items such as sheets of paper into envelopes, comprising:an elongate sheet feed conveyor means, at least one sheet feeder means and a plurality of sheet pusher means; an envelope loading station disposed substantially transversely to said elongate sheet feed conveyor means; said envelope loading station including an envelope hopper; means for delivering envelopes to said envelope hopper; said envelope loading station including a sheet insertion station disposed in transversely spaced apart relation to said envelope hopper and in alignment with a leading end of said elongate sheet feed conveyor means; and a sheet election means formed in said envelope loading station at said sheet insertion station; wherein said sheet ejection means includes at least one vertically disposed air jet means disposed below a top surface of said envelope loading station and further includes a sensor means for detecting absence of an envelope at said sheet insertion station whereby sheets arriving at said sheet insertion station are ejected from said sheet insertion station by a burst of air emitted from said air jet means.
