Claims
- 1. Fibers consisting of a polyethylene having a M.sub.n of at least 20,000, a M.sub.w of less than 125,000, a density of between 0.92 and 1.00 grams per cubic centimeter, said fibers having a tenacity of at least 12 grams per denier and a modulus of at least 272 grams per denier when measured at 72% relative humidity and 25.degree. C. on a bundle of at least 8 filaments using a gauge length of at least 25 centimeters.
- 2. The fibers of claim 1 wherein said M.sub.n is at least 22,000.
- 3. The fibers of claim 1 wherein said density is at least 0.96 grams per cubic centimeter.
- 4. The fibers of claim 1 wherein said tenacity is at least 15 grams per denier.
- 5. The fibers of claim 1 in the form of a monofilament.
- 6. The fibers of claim 1 in the form of a yarn consisting of a bundle of filaments.
