Claims
- 1. A tray insert removably disposable within a cavity of a frame, the frame including a peripheral edge and a receptacle formed therein, said tray insert comprising:
a bottom portion; a peripheral lip bounding said bottom portion; and a projection disposed on said peripheral lip and configured to releasably engage the receptacle on the peripheral edge when said tray insert is disposed on the frame, said tray insert being positionable within the cavity of the frame such that said peripheral lip overlaps at least a portion of the peripheral edge and said bottom portion is disposed within said peripheral edge.
- 2. The tray insert of claim 1, wherein said tray insert is formed from a plastic material and said projection is integrally formed with said peripheral lip.
- 3. The tray insert of claim 2, wherein said projection is an elongate tab.
- 4. The tray insert of claim 1, wherein said bottom portion has an upper surface having a plurality of sections formed therein.
- 5. The tray insert of claim 1, wherein said tray insert is formed from a plastic material that will not deform or significantly degrade upon exposure to a temperature of 250° F.
- 6. The tray insert of claim 5, wherein said plastic material is selected from the group consisting of polycarbonate, polystyrene, polyethylene, and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.
- 7. The tray insert of claim 1, wherein said projection is an elongate tab.
- 8. A tray insert removably disposable on a frame, the frame including a peripheral edge and a receptacle formed therein, said tray insert comprising:
a bottom portion having a periphery; a peripheral lip connected to said bottom portion around said periphery of said bottom portion; and a projection included on said peripheral lip and configured to cooperatively engage with the receptacle on the peripheral edge when said tray insert is disposed on the frame, said tray insert being positionable on the frame such that said peripheral lip overlaps at least a portion of the peripheral edge and said bottom portion is disposed within said peripheral edge.
- 9. The tray insert of claim 8, wherein said tray insert is formed from a plastic material and said projection is integrally formed with said tray insert.
- 10. The tray insert of claim 9, wherein said projection is an elongate tab.
- 11. The tray insert of claim 8, wherein said bottom portion has an upper surface having a plurality of sections formed therein.
- 12. The tray insert of claim 8, wherein said tray insert is formed from a plastic material that will not deform or significantly degrade upon exposure to a temperature of 250° F.
- 13. The tray insert of claim 12, wherein said plastic material is selected from the group consisting of polycarbonate, polystyrene, polyethylene, and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.
- 14. The tray insert of claim 8, wherein said projection is an elongate tab.
- 15. A tray assembly for an infant highchair, comprising:
a frame having a peripheral edge and a groove formed in said peripheral edge; a tray insert having a bottom portion and a peripheral lip bounding said bottom portion; and a projection disposed on said peripheral lip and configured to releasably engage said groove, said tray insert being positionable on said frame so that at least a portion of said peripheral lip is supported on said peripheral edge, said bottom portion is disposed within said peripheral edge, and said projection is received in said groove.
- 16. The tray assembly of claim 15, wherein said tray insert is formed from a plastic material and said projection is integrally formed with said peripheral lip.
