Abstract

A hockey stick is provided. The hockey stick includes a shaft having a first distal end and a second distal end, a first blade coupled to the first distal end, and a second blade coupled to the second distal end, wherein the first blade and the second blade are curved in the same direction.

BACKGROUND

Generally, a hockey stick includes a shaft with a blade arranged at one distal end of the shaft.

BRIEF SUMMARY

The present disclosure provides a hockey stick including blades on both ends of the shaft, where both blades are curved in the same direction (e.g., both blades forehand-facing).

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a hockey stick that includes a shaft having a first distal end and a second distal end, a first blade coupled to the first distal end, and a second blade coupled to the second distal end, wherein the first blade and the second blade are curved in the same direction.

FIGS. 1-5 illustrate one non-limiting example of a hockey stick 100 according to the present disclosure. As illustrated in FIGS. 1-5, the hockey stick 100 includes a shaft 102, a first blade 104, and a second blade 106, The shaft 102 defines a first distal end 108 and a second distal end 110. The first blade 104 may be coupled to the first distal end 108 of the shaft 102, and the second blade 106 may be coupled to the second distal end 110 of the shaft 102. When the first blade 104 and the second blade 106 are attached to the shaft 102, the first blade 104 and the second blade 106 may curve in a common direction. For example, the first blade 104 and the second blade 106 may curve in a forehand-facing direction or a backhand-facing direction, depending on the orientation of the hockey stick 100 when a user is holding the hockey stick 100.

In general, with both the first blade 104 and the second blade 106 being curved in the same direction, the hockey stick 100 enables users to play right-handed or left-handed without the need for two different hockey sticks. For example, beginner hockey players may be able to use the hockey stick 100 and not have to choose either to play left-handed or right-handed. In addition, the use of the hockey stick 100 in-game may enable a user to seamlessly switch between left-handed and right-handed play, which provides several strategic and operational advantages over conventional hockey sticks.

Claims

1. A hockey stick comprising: a shaft having a first distal end and a second distal end;a first blade coupled to the first distal end; anda second blade coupled to the second distal end,wherein the first blade and the second blade curve in a common direction.

2. The hockey stick of claim 1, wherein the shaft is a linear shaft that extends in a first direction from the first distal end to the second distal end.

3. The hockey stick of claim 2, wherein, as projected onto a first plane passing through a central axis of the shaft, the first blade extends from the shaft in a second direction that is at a first angle relative to the first direction and the second blade extends a from the shaft in a third direction that is at a second angle relative to the first direction.

4. The hockey stick of claim 3, wherein the first angle is the same as the second angle.

5. The hockey stick of claim 3, wherein first blade and the second blade are curved to extend out of the first plane.

6. The hockey stick of claim 3, wherein, as projected onto the first plane the shaft, the first blade, and the second blade collectively form a U-like shape.

7. The hockey stick of claim 4, wherein the first blade and the second blade extend in a common direction away from a second plane that passes through the central axis and is perpendicular to the first plane.

8. The hockey stick of claim 1, wherein the first blade extends away from the second distal end and the second blade extends away from the first distal end.

9. A hockey stick comprising: a shaft having a first distal end and a second distal end;a first blade coupled to the first distal end, the first blade extending from the shaft in a first direction and having a first curvature; anda second blade coupled to the second distal end, the second blade extending from the shaft in a second direction and having a second curvature.

10. The hockey stick of claim 9, wherein the first curvature is configured right-handed play and the second curvature is configured for left-handed play.

11. The hockey stick of claim 9, wherein the first curvature is the same as the second curvature.

12. The hockey stick of claim 9, wherein the shaft is a linear shaft defining a central axis that extends from the first distal end to the second distal end.

13. The hockey stick of claim 12, wherein, as projected onto a first plane passing through the central axis, the first direction is at a first angle relative to the central axis and the second direction is at a second angle relative to the central axis.

14. The hockey stick of claim 13, wherein, as projected onto the first plane, the shaft, the first blade, and the second blade collectively form a U-like shape.

15. The hockey stick of claim 14, wherein first blade and the second blade are curved to extend out of the first plane in a common direction.

16. A hockey stick comprising: a linear shaft extending in a first direction from a first distal end to a second distal end;a first blade coupled to the first distal end, the first blade being curved in a forehand-facing direction for right-handed play; anda second blade coupled to the second distal end, the second blade being curved in a forehand-facing direction for left-handed play.

17. The hockey stick of claim 16, wherein, as projected onto a first plane passing through a central axis of the shaft, the first blade extends from the shaft in a second direction that is at a first angle relative to the first direction and the second blade extends a from the shaft in a third direction that is at a second angle relative to the first direction.

18. The hockey stick of claim 17, wherein the first angle is the same as the second angle.

19. The hockey stick of claim 18, wherein, as projected onto the first plane, the shaft, the first blade, and the second blade collectively form a U-like shape.

20. The hockey stick of claim 16, wherein the first blade has a first curvature and the second blade has a second curvature that is the same as the first curvature.
