Claims
- 1. An assembly comprising a compressible, substantially spherical member having a generally centrally located cavity, a compressing mechanism generally surrounding said compressible member, a mounting bracket, a swivel joint attaching said mounting bracket to said compressing mechanism, said cavity is to receive an object, and said compressing mechanism constricting said cavity around said object.
- 2. The assembly of claim 1 wherein said cavity is to receive an object having a first axis, said object being adjustable along said first axis relative to said compressible member, said compressing mechanism having open ends, said open ends defining a second axis, said open ends being larger than said cavity allowing said first axis to be adjusted to a plurality of angles with said second axis.
- 3. The assembly of claim 1 wherein said swivel joint defines an axis, the rotation of said compressing mechanism defines a plane, said axis being normal to said plane, said compressing mechanism adjustable in said plane.
- 4. The assembly of claim 1 wherein said mounting bracket defines an aperture for receiving a substrate, said mounting bracket being radially adjustable around said substrate.
- 5. A mount comprising
- a compressing mechanism having a first inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, a second inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, said first inner surface opposing said second inner surface;
- a tightening mechanism advancing said second inner surface toward said first inner surface;
- a mounting bracket displaced from and connected to said compressing mechanism; and
- a compressible member having a generally centrally located substantially cylindrical cavity, a substantially spherical outer surface, and said compressible member being positioned between said first inner surface and said second inner surface.
- 6. The mount of claim 5 wherein said tightening mechanism comprises a first compression element having threads, a second compression element having threads, said first compression element threading into said second compression element.
- 7. The mount of claim 5 wherein said cavity is to receive a generally cylindrical device having a first axis, said device is adjustable along said first axis relative to said compressible member, said compressing mechanism having open ends, said open ends defining a second axis, said open ends being larger than said cavity allowing said device to be adjusted to a plurality of angles with respect to said second axis.
- 8. A mount comprising
- a compressing mechanism including a first compression element, a second compression element, and a third compression element;
- said first compression element having a first inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, said second compression element fitting inside said first compression element having a second inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, said first inner surface opposing said second inner surface, a tightening mechanism operatively coupling said third compression element with said first compression element;
- a mounting bracket displaced from and connected to said first compression element, said mounting bracket having an aperture for receiving a substrate;
- a compressible member having a centrally located substantially cylindrical cavity for receiving a device, a substantially spherical outer surface, and said compressible member being positioned between said first inner surface and said second inner surface; and
- said compressible member rotatably adjusts inside said first and said second inner surface, said first compression element pivotally adjusts on said mounting bracket, said mounting bracket radially adjusts around said substrate, and said device longitudinally adjusts in said cavity.
- 9. The mount of claim 8 wherein said compressing mechanism constricts said compressible member locking said device and said compressible member.
- 10. A mount comprising
- a compressing mechanism having a first inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, a second inner surface defining a portion of a sphere, said first inner surface opposing said second inner surface;
- a tightening mechanism advancing said second inner surface toward said first inner surface;
- a mounting bracket displaced from and connected to said compressing mechanism;
- a compressible member having a generally centrally located substantially cylindrical cavity, a substantially spherical outer surface, and said compressible member being positioned between said first inner surface and said second inner surface; and
- a swivel joint attaching said compressing mechanism to said mounting bracket.
