Claims
- 1. A continuous filament, comprising a thermoplastic synthetic polymer and characterized by a solid axial core and four substantially equispaced continuous V-shaped voids, a void content of about 6% to 25%, and a four-sided cross-sectional contour which is free of substantial convex or concave curves, wherein the apex of each void is directed at the central longitudinal axis of the core, and the notch of each void is substantially centered on a side of the contour.
- 2. The continuous filament of claim 1, wherein the voids have substantially equal dimensions.
- 3. The continuous filament of claim 1, wherein the polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyolefins, polyamides, and polyester.
- 4. The continuous filament of claim 3, wherein the polymer is nylon 66.
