Claims
- 1. A blow-molded plastic pipe comprising:
- a first plastic portion extending over a first length of said pipe and comprised of a first resin material; and
- a second plastic portion extending over a second length of said pipe and comprised of a second resin material, said second plastic portion being connected to said first plastic portion at a first interface between said first resin material and said second resin material,
- wherein said first interface is a gradual substantially circumferentially uniform transition thereby yielding a gradual change in mechanical strength from said first plastic portion to said second plastic portion.
- 2. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 1, wherein said first resin material is a thermoplastic material and said second resin material is also a thermoplastic material.
- 3. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 1, wherein said second plastic portion includes a bellows structure formed essentially of said second resin material.
- 4. A blow-molded plastic pipe comprising:
- a first plastic portion extending over a first length of said pipe and comprised of a first resin material;
- a second plastic portion extending over a second length of said pipe and comprised of a second resin material, said second plastic portion being connected to said first plastic portion at a first interface between said first resin material and said second resin material; and
- a first substantially circumferentially uniform transition region between said first plastic portion and said second plastic portion,
- wherein said first interface occurs in said first substantially circumferentially uniform transition region, and said first interface is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the resulting blow-molded plastic pipe thereby forming a gradual change in mechanical strength from said first plastic portion to said second plastic portion.
- 5. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 4, wherein said first resin material is a thermoplastic material and said second resin material is also a thermoplastic material.
- 6. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 4, wherein said second plastic portion includes a bellows structure formed essentially of said second resin material.
- 7. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 6, wherein said second resin material is a softer material than said first resin material.
- 8. A blow-molded plastic pipe comprising:
- a first plastic portion extending over a first length of said pipe and comprised of a first resin material; and
- a second plastic portion extending over a second length of said pipe and comprised of a second resin material, said second resin material being a softer material than said first resin material, said second plastic portion being connected to said first plastic portion at a first interface between said first resin material and said second resin material, said second portion including a bellows structure formed essentially of said second resin material,
- wherein said first interface is a gradual substantially circumferentially uniform transition thereby yielding a gradual change in mechanical strength from said first plastic portion to said second plastic portion.
- 9. The blow-molded plastic pipe of claim 8, wherein said first resin material is a thermoplastic material and said second resin material is also a thermoplastic material.
