Claims
- 1. A material having holographic and non-holographic displayable indicia thereupon, comprising:
- (a) a substrate that has a surface and
- an embossed holographic microtexture on the surface, the embossed holographic microtexture having an orientation axis that defines an ability to view a holographic image;
- (b) a selected non-holographic pattern printed upon said embossed holographic microtexture at a selected angular orientation relative to the orientation axis of the holographic microtexture; and
- (c) a reflective coating overlying said embossed holographic microtexture.
- 2. The material of claim 1, wherein said selected pattern includes a plurality of colors printed in registration.
- 3. The material of claim 1, wherein said holographic microtexture creates a visible holographic pattern.
- 4. The material of claim 3, wherein said holographic pattern includes areas thereof having a three dimensional visual effect.
- 5. The material of claim 3, wherein said selected non-holographic pattern is printed in registration with said holographic pattern.
- 6. The material of claim 1, wherein said embossed holographic microtexture comprises nitrocellulose acrylic lacquer.
- 7. The material of claim 1, wherein said selected non-holographic pattern comprises pigmented acrylic resin.
- 8. The material of claim 1, wherein said selected non-holographic pattern includes readable matter.
- 9. The material of claim 1, wherein said selected non-holographic pattern includes graphics.
- 10. The material of claim 1, wherein said embossed holographic microtexture is tinted.
- 11. The material of claim 3, wherein the holographic pattern includes areas thereof having a two dimensional visual effect.
- 12. A material having holographic and non-holographic displayable indicia, comprising:
- a substrate that has a surface and
- an embossed holographic microtexture on the surface, the embossed holographic microtexture having an orientation axis that defines an ability to view a holographic image; and
- a selected non-holographic pattern printed upon the embossed holographic microtexture at a selected angular orientation relative to the orientation axis of the holographic microtexture.
- 13. The material of claim 12, wherein the embossed holographic microtexture further comprises a metalized layer.
- 14. The material of claim 12, wherein the substrate comprises plastic.
- 15. The material of claim 12, wherein the embossed holographic microtexture is tinted.
- 16. The material of claim 12, wherein the embossed holographic microtexture creates a visible holographic pattern.
- 17. The material of claim 16, wherein the holographic pattern creates a three-dimensional visual effect.
- 18. A material having holographic and non-holographic displayable indicia, comprising:
- a substrate that has a surface and
- an embossed holographic microtexture on the surface, the embossed holographic microtexture having an orientation axis that defines an ability to view a holographic pattern;
- a selected non-holographic pattern printed upon the embossed holographic microtexture at a selected angular orientation relative to the orientation axis of the holographic microtexture; and
- a visible holographic pattern impressed on the embossed holographic microtexture, the selected non-holographic pattern being printed in registration with the visible holographic pattern.
- 19. The material of claim 18, further comprising a metalized layer overlying the selected non-holographic pattern and the visible holographic pattern.
- 20. The material of claim 18, wherein the embossed holographic microtexture is tinted.
