Claims
- 1. A HUT78 T-cell line infected with HTLV-III.sub.451 having the characteristics of expressing gp160, not forming syncytia with CD4 positive cell line CEM.sub.50, not synthesizing gag precursor protein p55, having no reverse transcriptase activity, and not producing HTLV-III virus.
- 2. A cell line according to claim 1 wherein said cell line is 6D5.sub.451 -clone 3, ATCC designation CRL 10307.
- 3. 6D5.sub.451 cells selected from ATCC designation CRL 9946 and ATCC designation CRL 10307 in a serum-free medium.
