Claims
- 1. A method for switching dynamically between a single speaker mode and a dual speaker mode of a phone conference call, comprising:
a) receiving a plurality of frames of voice parameters; b) determining the number of speakers speaking at a time based on said voice parameters; c) switching modes based on said determined number of speakers; and d) tracking speakers that are speaking during said phone conference call.
- 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein step b) comprises:
i) detecting an identifier bit in said plurality of frames of voice parameters; and ii) determining the number of speakers present based on said identifier bit.
- 3. The method according to claim 1, wherein step c) comprises:
i) switching dynamically into single speaker mode when only one speaker is speaking; and ii) switching dynamically into in dual speaker mode when more than one speaker is speaking.
- 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein step d) comprises computing a similarity measurement of speakers tracked during said phone conference call.
- 5. The method according to claim 4, wherein step d) further comprises comparing said voice parameters.
- 6. A device for switching dynamically between a single speaker mode and a dual speaker mode of a phone conference call, comprising:
a) means for receiving a plurality of frames of voice parameters; b) means for determining the number of speakers speaking at a time based on said voice parameters; c) means for switching modes based on said determined number of speakers; and d) means for tracking said speakers that are speaking during said phone conference call.
- 7. The device according to claim 4, wherein step b) comprises:
i) means for detecting an identifier bit in said plurality of frames of voice parameters; and ii) means for determining the number of speakers present based on said identifier bit.
- 8. The device according to claim 4, wherein step c) comprises:
i) means for switching dynamically into single speaker mode when only one speaker is speaking; and ii) means for switching dynamically into dual speaker mode when more than one speaker is speaking.
- 9. The device according to claim 4, wherein step d) comprises a means for computing a similarity measurement of speakers tracked during said phone conference call.
- 10. The device according to claim 9, wherein step d) further comprises a means for comparing said voice parameters.
