Claims
- 1. A golf bag, comprising:
(a) a golf bag body with an open top and a closed bottom; (b) a wheel mount attached to said bottom; (c) at least two wheels rotatably connected to said wheel mount; and (d) handle means attached to said golf bag body, said handle means being adapted for carrying and pulling said golf bag body.
- 2. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said golf bag body further includes a stand, said stand being adapted to enable said golf bag body to stand in a stable, unattended position.
- 3. The golf bag of claim 2, wherein said stand has an extended position and a retracted position, said stand being in said extended position when said golf bag body stands in a stable, unattended position.
- 4. The golf bag of claim 3, wherein said stand is in a normally retracted position, and moves into and maintains an extended position.
- 5. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said golf bag body has a periphery and said at least two wheels extend outside of said periphery.
- 6. The golf bag of claim 5, wherein said at least two wheels have a retracted position proximate to said periphery and an extended position away from said periphery.
- 7. The golf bag of claim 6, further comprising a wheel latching mechanism adapted for securing said at least two wheels in said retracted position and in said extended position.
- 8. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said wheel mount is formed with a wheel axle adapted to securely receive said at least two wheels.
- 9. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said wheel mount is formed with two tandem sleeves adapted to receive two wheel axles of a predetermined length in one said sleeve to provide an extended wheel state wherein said wheels are disposed a predetermined first distance away from said golf bag body and is further adapted to receive said two wheel axles in two said sleeves to provide a retracted wheel state wherein said wheels are disposed a predetermined second distance away from said golf bag body, said first distance being greater than said second distance.
- 10. The golf bag of claim 9, wherein said wheel axles have quick release, hand depressible pins which mate with apertures in said sleeves.
- 11. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said handle means includes a shoulder strap adapted to be used for carrying said golf bag body.
- 12. The golf bag of claim 1, wherein said handle means includes a rigid push/pull handle.
- 13. The golf bag of claim 12, wherein said rigid push/pull handle has an extended position and a retracted position.
- 14. The golf bag of claim 13, further comprising a handle latching mechanism adapted for securing said rigid push/pull handle in said retracted position and in said extended position.
- 15. The golf bag of claim 2, wherein said handle means comprises a post portion pivotally attached to a handle portion.
- 17. The golf bag of claim 15, wherein said handle means further comprises means to hand actuate said stand.
- 18. The golf bag of claim 17, wherein said means to actuate comprises a pull handle longitudinally movably coupled to said handle portion and having at least one cord connecting said pull handle to said stand.
- 19. The golf bag of claim 15, wherein said handle means is removable from said golf bag.
- 20. A hybrid golf bag which is adapted to stand self-supporting, and to be selectively useable as a pull-style cart or a carry-style bag, comprising:
(a) a golf bag body with an open top and a closed bottom; (b) a shoulder strap connected to said golf bag body for carrying said golf bag; (c) a stand connected to said golf bag body, said stand having a normally retracted position for pulling and carrying said golf bag, and an extended position for supporting said golf bag in a substantially upright position; (d) a wheel mount attached to said bottom; (e) at least two wheels rotatably connected to said wheel mount and which are laterally extendable and retractable with respect to said golf bag body for selectively pulling and carrying said golf bag; and (f) handle means attached to said golf bag body, said handle means extendable and retractable for selectively pulling and carrying said golf bag.
