Claims
- 1. A branched hybrid polymer that is prepared from
(a) at least one component selected from the group consisting of macromonomers and polymers within the class of polyimides, poly(amic acids) and esters thereof which comprise at least one addition polymerization moiety as a sidechain, and (b) at least one component selected from the group consisting of addition monomers and functionalized addition polymers wherein the components (a) and (b) are covalently bonded to form a copolymer and wherein at least one of (a) is prepared from 48
- 2. A branched hybrid polymer that is prepared from
(a) at least one component selected from the group consisting of macromonomers and polymers within the class of polyimides, poly(amic acids) and esters thereof which comprise at least one addition polymerization moiety, and (b) at least one component selected from the group consisting of 49wherein the components (a) and (b) are covalently bonded to form a copolymer.

- 11. A branched hybrid polymer of claim 10 wherein

- 12. A branched hybrid polymer that is prepared from
(a) at least one component selected from the group consisting of monomers, macromonomers and polymers within the class of polyimides, poly(amic acids) and esters thereof, and (b) at least one component that is a functionalized addition polymer wherein the components (a) and (b) are covalently bonded to form a copolymer.
- 13. A branched hybrid polymer of claim 12 wherein the functionalized addition polymer has functional moieties as sidechains.
- 14. A branched hybrid polymer of claim 13 wherein the functionalized addition polymer with functional moieties as sidechains is prepared from at least one selected from the group consisting of methacrylates and derivatives, acrylates and derivatives, methacrylamides and derivatives, acrylamides and derivatives, olefins and derivatives, vinyls and derivatives, styrenes and derivatives, maleimides and derivatives and norbornenes and derivatives and mixtures thereof.
- 15. A branched hybrid polymer of claim 13 wherein at least one functional moiety as a sidechain is an amine.
- 16. A branched hybrid polymer of claim 15 wherein the functionalized addition polymer is prepared from a pre-functionalized addition polymer and wherein the pre-functionalized addition polymer is prepared from
