Claims
- 1. A personal hydration system, comprising:
a reservoir having a body portion with an internal compartment adapted to receive drink fluid, wherein the reservoir includes a fill port with a neck having an opening through which drink fluid may be added to or removed from the compartment, and a filler cap assembly that includes a removable cap adapted to selectively seal the opening, wherein the cap includes a plug portion adapted to extend into the neck to provide a fluid-tight seal therewith; and a drink tube coupled to the reservoir and adapted to receive drink fluid therefrom; a mouthpiece adapted to dispense drink fluid from the drink tube.
- 2. The system of claim 1, wherein the neck includes internally extending threads, and the plug portion includes externally extending threads that are adapted to engage the threads on the neck to secure the cap on the neck.
- 3. The system of claim 2, wherein the cap includes a handle portion adapted to be grasped by a user to rotate the cap relative to the neck.
- 4. The system of claim 3, wherein the cap further includes at least one recess extending into the plug portion proximate the handle.
- 5. The system of claim 1, wherein the neck includes an outer edge extending away from the reservoir, and the cap does not extend beyond the edge.
- 6. The system of claim 1, wherein the neck includes an outer perimeter, and the cap has a perimeter that is smaller than the outer perimeter of the neck.
- 7. The system of claim 1, further including a tether adapted to couple the cap to the fill port.
- 8. The system of claim 7, wherein the fill port includes an aperture and the tether is adapted to extend through the aperture.
- 9. The system of claim 8, wherein the tether includes an anchor that is sized so that it will not pass through the aperture as the cap is moved away from the neck.
- 10. The system of claim 1, further including a support member adapted to extend at least partially around the neck to support the neck.
- 11. The system of claim 10, wherein the support member extends completely around the neck.
- 12. The system of claim 11, wherein the support member is removably coupled to the neck.
- 13. The system of claim 1, further including a wrench assembly that is coupled to the fill port and includes a handle.
- 14. The system of claim 13, wherein the wrench assembly is removably coupled to the fill port.
- 15. The system of claim 14, wherein the wrench assembly further includes a support member that extends at least partially around the neck.
- 16. The system of claim 15, wherein the support member extends completely around the neck.
- 17. The system of claim 15, wherein the wrench assembly further includes a lock mechanism adapted to selectively prevent the wrench assembly from rotating relative to the neck.
- 18. The system of claim 13, wherein the cap further includes a handle that is separate from the handle of the wrench assembly.
- 19. The system of claim 1, wherein the opening has a diameter of at least 2.5 inches.
- 20. The system of claim 19, wherein the opening has a diameter of at least 3 three inches.
- 21. The system of claim 1, further including a pack with an internal compartment sized to receive the reservoir.
- 22. The system of claim 21, wherein the pack further includes a strap assembly adapted to secure the pack on a user's body.
- 23. The system of claim 21, wherein the compartment includes an outer surface with in opening through which the neck extends.
- 24. The system of claim 23, wherein the pack includes a cover adapted to extend over the neck.
- 25. The system of claim 24, wherein the pack includes a fastening mechanism adapted to selectively secure the cover over the cover.
- 26. The system of claim 21, wherein the pack further includes a positioning device adapted to support the reservoir within the pack.
- 27. A personal hydration system, comprising:
a reservoir having a body portion with an internal compartment adapted to receive drink fluid, wherein the reservoir includes a fill port with a neck having an opening through which drink fluid may be added to or removed from the compartment, and a filler cap assembly that includes a removable cap adapted to selectively seal the opening, wherein the opening has a diameter of at least 2.5 inches; a drink tube coupled to the reservoir and adapted to receive drink fluid therefrom; a mouthpiece adapted to dispense drink fluid from the drink tube.
- 28. The system of claim 27, wherein the opening has a diameter of at least 3 three inches.
- 29. The system of claim 27, wherein the opening has a diameter in the range of 3 and 5 inches.
- 30. The system of claim 27, further including a pack with an internal compartment sized to receive the reservoir.
- 31. The system of claim 30, wherein the pack further includes a strap assembly adapted to secure the pack on a user's body.
- 32. The system of claim 30, wherein the compartment includes an outer surface with in opening through which the neck extends.
- 33. The system of claim 32, wherein the pack includes a cover adapted to extend over the neck.
- 34. The system of claim 33, wherein the pack includes a fastening mechanism adapted to selectively secure the cover over the cover.
- 35. The system of claim 30, wherein the pack further includes a positioning device adapted to support the reservoir within the pack.
- 36. The system of claim 27, wherein the cap includes a handle adapted to be grasped by a user to remove and replace the cap onto the neck.
- 37. The system of claim 27, further including a wrench assembly that is coupled to the fill port and includes a handle.
- 38. The system of claim 37, wherein the cap includes a handle that is separate from the handle on the wrench assembly.
- 39. The system of claim 37, wherein the wrench assembly is removably coupled to the fill port.
- 40. The system of claim 39, wherein the wrench assembly further includes a support member that extends at least partially around the neck.
- 41. The system of claim 40, wherein the support member extends completely around the neck.
- 42. The system of claim 40, wherein the wrench assembly further includes a lock mechanism adapted to selectively prevent the wrench assembly from rotating relative to the neck.
- 43. A personal hydration system, comprising:
a reservoir having a body portion with an internal compartment adapted to receive drink fluid, wherein the reservoir includes a fill port with a neck having an opening through which drink fluid may be added to or removed from the compartment, and a filler cap assembly that includes a removable cap adapted to selectively seal the opening, wherein the cap includes a handle adapted to be grasped by a user to selectively attach and remove the cap from the neck; a wrench assembly coupled to the neck and including a support member adapted to provide support to the neck and a handle portion that extends from the support member; a drink tube coupled to the reservoir and adapted to receive drink fluid therefrom; and a mouthpiece adapted to dispense drink fluid from the drink tube.
- 44. The system of claim 43, wherein the wrench assembly is removably coupled to the neck.
- 45. The system of claim 44, wherein the wrench assembly includes a lock mechanism adapted to secure the wrench assembly is a defined position relative to the neck.
- 46. The system of claim 43, wherein the support member extends at least partially around the neck.
- 47. The system of claim 46, wherein the support member extends completely around the neck.
- 48. The system of claim 43, further including a pack having an internal compartment sized to receive the reservoir.
- 49. The system of claim 48, wherein the pack includes an opening through which the neck extends.
- 50. The system of claim 49, wherein the pack further includes a cover adapted to extend over the opening.
