Claims
- 1. A process for alkylating an isoparaffinic hydrocarbon with an olefinic hydrocarbon which comprises contacting a mixture of said isoparaffinic hydrocarbon and said olefinic hydrocarbon, at alkylation conditions including a temperature of about -80.degree.F to 150.degree.F, with a catalytic composition comprising hydrogen fluoride-antimony pentafluoride on a fluorided alumina support, said support having a fluorine content of at least about 60 weight percent and a pore volume of about 0.05 cc to about 0.7 cc per gram.
- 2. A process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said alkylatable hydrocarbon is a C.sub.4 -C.sub.6 isoparaffin and said olefin is a C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 olefin.
- 3. A process in accordance with claim 1 wherein said catalytic composite has a surface area between 0.1 and 10 m.sup.2 /gram.
