Claims
- 1. A hydrocarbon conversion process comprising contacting a hydrocarbon under hydrocarbon conversion conditions with a catalyst to give a hydroconverted product, the catalyst comprising a molecular sieve having a three-dimensional microporous framework structure which has a unit empirical formula on an anhydrous basis of:
- (Cr.sub.w Al.sub.x Si.sub.y)O.sub.2
- where "w", "x" and "y" are the mole fractions of chromium, aluminum and silicon, respectively, present as framework tetrahedral oxide units said mole fractions being such that they are within the trigonal area defined by points A, B, and C of FIG. 1, which points have the following values of w, x and y

- 2. The process of claim 1 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite Y.
- 3. The process of claim 1 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite mordenite.
- 4. The process of claim 1 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite LZ-202.
- 5. The process of claim 1 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite L.
- 6. The process of claim 1 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is hydrocracking.
- 7. The process of claim 1 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is cracking.
- 8. The process of claim 1 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is hydrogenation.
- 9. The process of claim I where the hydrocarbon conversion process is alkylation.
- 10. The process of claim I where the hydrocarbon conversion process is isomerization.
- 11. A hydrocarbon conversion process comprising contacting a hydrocarbon under hydrocarbon conversion conditions with a catalyst to give a hydroconverted product, the catalyst comprising a molecular sieve having a three-dimensional microporous framework structure which has a unit empirical formula on an anhydrous basis of:
- (Al.sub.u Si.sub.v Cr.sub.w z)O.sub.2
- where u is the mole fraction of aluminum and ranges from about 0.01 to about 0.5, v is the mole fraction of silicon and ranges from about 0.5 to about 0.98, w is the mole fraction of chromium and ranges from about 0.01 to about 0.49, is framework defect sites and z is the mole fraction of defect sites in the framework and ranges from greater than zero to about 0.2 characterized in that the aluminum, silicon and chromium are present as tetrahedral oxide units in the framework structure.
- 12. The process of claim 11 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is hydrocracking.
- 13. The process of claim 11 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is cracking.
- 14. The process of claim 11 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is hydrogenation.
- 15. The process of claim 11 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is alkylation.
- 16. The process of claim 11 where the hydrocarbon conversion process is isomerization.
- 17. The process of claim 11 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite Y.
- 18. The process of claim 11 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite mordenite.
- 19. The process of claim 11 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite LZ-202.
- 20. The process of claim 11 where the molecular sieve has the characteristic x-ray powder diffraction pattern of zeolite L.
