Claims
- 1. A watertight mount comprising:
a mounting base including a flange and a socket having an interior surface including mating threads; and a base plate coupled with the mounting base, the base plate defining an opening through which the socket passes.
- 2. The mount of claim 1, further comprising a gasket coupled between the base plate and the mounting base, the gasket defining an opening through which the socket passes.
- 3. The mount of claim 2, wherein the base plate is releasably coupled with the mounting base.
- 4. The mount of claim 2, further comprising a connector to couple the base plate with the mounting base with the gasket therebetween.
- 5. The mount of claim 4, wherein the gasket comprises a flexible solid gasket.
- 6. The mount of claim 4, wherein the socket resides entirely on one side of the flange and a top surface of the flange comprises a flat surface.
- 7. The mount of claim 6, wherein the connector comprises screws and nuts, wherein the flange defines a plurality of openings through which the screws pass, the base plate defines a plurality of openings through which the screws pass, and the gasket defines a plurality of openings through which the screws pass.
- 8. The mount of claim 7, wherein each of the screws comprises a beveled flat-topped screw head, and wherein the plurality of openings defined by the flange each comprises a beveled interior surface that matches the beveled flat-topped screw head such that the flat tops of the screw heads are substantially coplanar with the top surface of the flange when the screws are tightened in place.
- 9. The mount of claim 6, wherein the socket comprises a barrel shaped socket having an exterior surface including securing threads, and wherein the connector comprises a nut defining a threaded hole that matches the securing threads on the exterior surface of the barrel shaped socket.
- 10. The mount of claim 9, wherein the gasket comprises an o-ring gasket.
- 11. The mount of claim 6, wherein the flange comprises a rounded flange, and the base plate comprises a rounded base plate having width dimensions substantially similar to width dimensions of the rounded flange.
- 12. The mount of claim 11, wherein the rounded flange has a width of at least about three inches, and the rounded base plate has a width of at least about three inches.
- 13. The mount of claim 1, further comprising:
a connector top releasably coupled with the mounting base, the connector top comprising a rigid body, an anchor coupled with the rigid body, and a threaded bolt coupled with the rigid body, wherein the threaded bolt matches the mating threads of the interior surface of the socket.
- 14. The mount of claim 13, wherein the rigid body includes a bottom surface comprising a flat surface.
- 15. The mount of claim 14, wherein the anchor comprises a first anchor, the mount further comprising a second anchor coupled with the rigid body.
- 16. The mount of claim 15, wherein the first anchor and the second anchor are each elongated and are each perpendicular with respect to each other, the first anchor positioned below the second anchor such that the first anchor passes through a region defined by the second anchor and a top surface of the of the rigid body.
- 17. The mount of claim 16, wherein the first anchor and the second anchor each have a butterfly shape.
- 18. The mount of claim 16, wherein the first anchor meets the second anchor to divide the second anchor into two anchoring points.
- 19. A connector top to serve as a selectably fixed or rotating anchor point, the connector top comprising:
a rigid body; two or more anchors coupled with the rigid body; and a threaded bolt coupled with the rigid body.
- 20. The connector top of claim 19, wherein a first of the two or more anchors is positioned below a second of the two or more anchors such that the first anchor passes through a region defined by the second anchor and the rigid body.
- 21. The connector top of claim 20, wherein the first anchor and the second anchor each have a butterfly shape.
- 22. The connector top of claim 21, wherein the first anchor meets the second anchor to divide the second anchor into two anchoring points.
- 23. A watertight mount comprising:
means for holding water on one side of a wall and for receiving a selectably fixed or rotating connector top to serve as an anchor point; and means for sealing the water-holding means to the wall.
- 24. The mount of claim 23, wherein the water-holding and receiving means comprises means for receiving a threaded bolt.
- 25. The mount of claim 24, wherein the water-holding and receiving means comprises a flange and a socket including threads, and wherein the sealing means comprises means for imparting a watertight seal between the flange and the wall.
- 26. The mount of claim 25, wherein the sealing means further comprises means for placing sealing pressure on an outside edge of the flange.
- 27. The mount of claim 25, wherein the sealing means further comprises means for facilitating a parallel condition between the flange and the wall.
- 28. A method comprising:
positioning a mounting base on an interior surface of a spa wall, the mounting base including a flange and a socket having an interior surface including mating threads; placing a base plate on a surface of the spa wall opposite the interior surface of the spa wall, the base plate defining an opening through which the socket passes; tightening at least one nut to couple the base plate with the mounting base and to place sealing pressure on an outside edge of the flange; and connecting a piece of exercise equipment to the mounting base by screwing a threaded bolt into the socket in the mounting base.
- 29. The method of claim 28, further comprising putting a gasket between the mounting base and the spa wall.
- 30. The method of claim 28, wherein connecting the piece of exercise equipment comprises:
screwing a connector top into the socket in the mounting base, the connector top including the threaded bolt and two or more anchors; and attaching the piece of exercise equipment with at least one of the two or more anchors.
- 31. A hydrotherapy exercise system comprising:
a swim spa including a partitioning wall having an interior surface and an opposite surface, the interior surface being shaped to contain water in the swim spa; a plurality of multi-use watertight mounts installed in the partitioning wall, each mount comprising a mounting base including a flange and a recessed socket passing through the partitioning wall and having an interior surface including mating threads, a gasket adjoining the flange and the interior surface of the partitioning wall, and a base plate adjoining the opposite surface of the partitioning wall and coupled with the mounting base; and exercise equipment that includes threaded bolts, where each threaded bolt matches the mating threads of the recessed sockets in the multi-use watertight mounts.
- 32. The system of claim 31, wherein the exercise equipment comprises multiple rowers, each of the rowers comprising multiple tether attachment points that provide tether attachment configurations for both variable resistance levels and bi-directional resistance.
- 33. The system of claim 32, wherein the exercise equipment further comprises multiple connector tops, each of the connector tops comprising:
a rigid body; two or more anchors coupled with the rigid body; and a threaded bolt coupled with the rigid body.
- 34. The system of claim 33, wherein the exercise equipment further comprises multiple exercise bars, each of the exercise bars comprising two swivel anchoring points, each of the two swivel anchoring points comprising one or more loops.
- 35. The system of claim 34, wherein the exercise equipment further comprises multiple additional exercise bars, each of the additional exercise bars comprising two static anchoring points.
- 36. The system of claim 31, wherein the partitioning wall includes multiple bolters, and a portion of the plurality of multi-use watertight mounts are installed in the bolsters.
- 37. The system of claim 36, wherein the plurality of multi-use watertight mounts are installed in a uniformly spaced fashion.
- 38. The system of claim 31, wherein the exercise equipment comprises means for performing multiple exercises using variable resistance and multiple attachment configurations.
