The disclosure and prior art relate to covering assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new covering assembly for exercise equipment.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first panel and a second panel. A connector that is coupled to a back of the first panel is configured to selectively and removably couple the first panel to a contact element of a respective piece of exercise equipment so that the first panel substantially covers an upper surface of the contact element. A plurality of first couplers is coupled to a front, proximate to a circumference, of the first panel. The second panel comprises cloth and is configured to absorb sweat and oils. A plurality of second couplers is coupled proximate to a perimeter of the second panel. Each second coupler is positioned to selectively couple to a respective first coupler to removably couple the second panel to the first panel, positioning the second panel to absorb the sweat and oils from a body of a user.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A connector 14 that is coupled to a back 16 of the first panel 12 is configured to selectively and removably couple the first panel 12 to the contact element of the respective piece of exercise equipment so that the first panel 12 substantially covers the upper surface of the contact element.
The connector 14 comprises a sleeve 18 that is coupled to the back 16 of the first panel 12 proximate to a first end 20 of the first panel 12. The sleeve 18 is resiliently stretchable so that the sleeve 18 is configured to be stretched to selectively insert an end section of the contact element of the respective piece of exercise equipment and to rebound to removably couple the first panel 12 to the contact element of the respective piece of exercise equipment. The sleeve 18 comprises at least one of rubber, latex, polyvinyl chloride, nitrile rubber, neoprene, or the like.
The assembly 10 also comprises a second panel 22. The second panel 22 comprises cloth and is configured to absorb sweat and oils. The second panel 22 comprises at least one of cotton, polyester, wool, flax, hemp, or the like.
A plurality of first couplers 24 is coupled to a front 26 of the first panel 12 proximate to a circumference 28 of the first panel 12. A plurality of second couplers 30 is coupled to the second panel 22 proximate to a perimeter 32 of the second panel 22. The second couplers 30 are complementary to the first couplers 24. Each second coupler 30 is positioned to selectively couple to a respective first coupler 24 to removably couple the second panel 22 to the first panel 12, positioning the second panel 22 to absorb sweat and oils from a body of a user. The second coupler 30 and the respective first coupler 24 comprises at least one of a snap closure 34 and a hook and loop fastener 36.
The assembly 10 is intended for utilization in a setting where exercise equipment is used by more than one individual. Each individual may enter the setting with their own second panel 22 already coupled to their own first panel 12. The individual is positioned to move the assembly 10 to the contact element of each piece of exercise equipment as required for their exercise routine, using the sleeve 18 to couple the assembly 10 to the seat or bench, as required. This method of use provides a high level of protection from germs being passed between the individuals using the same piece of exercise equipment. The second panel 22 then may be decoupled from the first panel 12 so that it can be laundered.
Another option for use comprises a plurality of first panels 12 and a plurality of second panels 22. Each first panel 12 is coupled to the contact element of a respective piece of exercise equipment, while each individual has their own second panel 22. The individual would couple their second panel 22 to the first panel 12 of respective piece of exercise equipment, complete that portion of their exercise routine, decouple their second panel 22, and then move on to the next piece of equipment and the next portion of their exercise routine.
In another embodiment of invention, the first panel 12 and the plurality of first couplers 24 are integral to the contact element of the respective piece of exercise equipment. In this embodiment, as above, each individual would have their own second panel 22.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
