Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR16## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R is hydrogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkanoyl, benzoyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.4)carbalkoxy, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)-alkylcarbamoyl (C.sub.5 -C.sub.7)-cycloalkylcarbamoyl or di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)-alkylcarbamoyl;
- Q is sulfur or oxygen; and
- V is hydrogen or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl.
- 2. A compound of claim 1 wherein R is hydrogen and Q is sulfur.
- 3. The compound of claim 2 having the formula ##STR17##
- 4. The compound of claim 2 having the formula ##STR18##
- 5. A method of lowering the blood glucose in a hyperglycemic mammal which comprises administering a blood glucose lowering amount of a compound of claim 1.
