Claims
- 1. A system that facilitates presenting user transaction data to a user, comprising:
a terminal that communicates at least product-related and/or service-related information to a user; and an m-commerce device capable of reading a dataform corresponding to a product and/or service, the m-commerce device communicating product and/or service data to the terminal, wherein the terminal communicates the product-related and/or service-related information to the user.
- 2. The system of claim 1, the terminal communicating the information to the user in response to the user entering within a predetermined proximity to the terminal.
- 3. The system of claim 1, the product-related and/or service-related information comprising information supplemental to that of the product-related and/or service-related data.
- 4. The system of claim 3, the terminal providing information regarding secondary products and/or secondary services that is related to the product and/or service.
- 5. The system of claim 1, further comprising a classifier that facilitates determining the type of information to be presented to the user via the terminal.
- 6. The system of claim 5, the classifier comprising a support vector machine.
- 7. The system of claim 5, the classifier comprising a Bayesian network.
- 8. The system of claim 5, the classifier being explicitly and implicitly trained.
- 9. The system of claim 1, the m-commerce device reading a terminal dataform of the terminal, in response to which the product-related and/or service-related information is presented to the user.
- 10. The system of claim 9, the m-commerce device transmitting terminal dataform data representative of the terminal dataform.
- 11. The system of claim 9, the terminal dataform uniquely associated with the location of the terminal.
- 12. The system of claim 9, the m-commerce device transmitting terminal dataform data representative of the terminal dataform to a server, which server includes an association of the terminal dataform data and the location information of the terminal.
- 13. The system of claim 1, in response to the m-commerce device reading the product and/or service dataform, the product and/or service data is stored in the m-commerce device and the user product and/or service data information presented to the user via the m-commerce device.
- 14. The system of claim 1, the product and/or service data communicated wirelessly to the terminal.
- 15. The system of claim 1, the product and/or service data communicated wirelessly via a global communication network to the terminal.
- 16. The system of claim 1, the location of the user determined from the location of the dataform that has been read.
- 17. The system of claim 16, the user presented with predicted product and/or service data via the m-commerce device according to the user location.
- 18. The system of claim 1, the direction of the user determined from the location of at least two dataforms that have been read.
- 19. The system of claim 18, the user presented with predicted product and/or service data via the m-commerce device according to the direction the user is heading.
- 20. The system of claim 1, the m-commerce device receiving an electronic coupon in response to the dataform being read.
- 21. The system of claim 20, the electronic coupon transmitted and applied automatically to the transaction.
- 22. The system of claim 1, the terminal reading an m-commerce dataform of the m-commerce device, in response to which the product-related and/or service-related information is presented to the user.
- 23. The system of claim 22, the terminal transmitting data representative of the m-commerce dataform to a server, which server includes an association of the dataform with the product-related and/or service-related information.
- 24. The system of claim 1, the m-commerce device transmitting the product-related and/or service-related information over at least one of a wired and wireless network on which the terminal is disposed.
- 25. The system of claim 1, the terminal including a terminal dataform that is at least one of a bar code, encoded in association with a transponder system, encoded in association with an RFID system and a magnetically encoded media.
- 26. The system of claim 1, the product-related and/or service-related information transmitted wirelessly from the m-commerce device over a network to the terminal, which network comprises at least one of a global communication network, LAN, WAN, and WWAN.
- 27. The system of claim 1, the m-commerce device presenting at least one of advertising information and preferences information to the user.
- 28. The system of claim 1, further comprising presenting at least one of advertising information and preferences information to the user via the terminal.
- 29. The system of claim 1, the dataform presented on a sign in association with a first product and/or service, after which the sign is reused such that the dataform presented on the sign is reassociated with a second product and/or service.
- 30. The system of claim 29, the user reads the dataform with the m-commerce device to indicate interest and/or intent in the corresponding first product and/or service, in response to which the user receives information related and/or unrelated to the dataform.
- 31. The system of claim 1, a plurality of dataforms presented on a signboard in association with corresponding products and/or services, the signboard further associated with a promotional program that includes the products and/or services.
- 32. The system of claim 31, the user reads at least one of the plurality of dataforms with the m-commerce device to indicate interest and/or intent in the corresponding first product and/or service, in response to which the user receives information related and/or unrelated to the dataform.
- 33. A system for presenting user transaction data to a user, comprising:
means for reading a terminal dataform of a terminal to obtain a unique terminal identifier associated with the terminal; means for transmitting item information and the terminal identifier to a network server; means for comparing the terminal identifier with a database of terminal location data of the network server to obtain the terminal location data associated with the terminal identifier; and means for transmitting the item information to the terminal in accordance with the terminal location data for presentation to the user.
- 34. The system of claim 33, the dataform being at least one of a bar code, encoded in association with a transponder system, encoded in association with an RFID system, and a magnetically encoded media.
- 35. The system of claim 33, the item information comprising at least one of product information and service information.
- 36. The system of claim 33 presenting the item information to the user.
- 37. The system of claim 33, the user causing a device to read the item dataform associated with the item information, the item information being stored in the device until transmitted in response the act of reading.
- 38. The system of claim 33, further comprising presenting at least one of advertising information and user preferences information to the user via the m-commerce device.
- 39. A method presenting user transaction data to a user, comprising:
receiving an m-commerce device capable of reading a dataform; storing item of commerce-related data in response to the m-commerce device reading an item of commerce dataform; and presenting the item of commerce-related data to the user via a terminal in response to a device dataform associated with at least one of the m-commerce device and the terminal, being read.
- 40. The method of claim 39 presenting at least one of advertising information and user preferences information to the user via the terminal in response to the device dataform being read.
- 41. The method of claim 39, the terminal presenting information of secondary items of commerce that is related to the item of commerce.
- 42. The method of claim 39, the device dataform associated with the m-commerce device such that the terminal reads the m-commerce device dataform and automatically presents the item of commerce-related data to the user via the terminal.
- 43. The method of claim 39, the device dataform associated with the terminal such that the m-commerce device reads the terminal device dataform, in response to which the terminal automatically presents the item of commerce-related data to the user.
- 44. The method of claim 39, the item of commerce data stored in at least one of the m-commerce device, a server local to the terminal, and a server remote to the terminal.
- 45. The method of claim 39, further comprising presenting user preferences information to the user via at least one of the m-commerce device and the terminal, the preferences information presented by,
automatically accessing a remote web site of preferences information; retrieving the preferences information; and presenting the preferences information to the user along with the item of commerce-related data.
- 46. The method of claim 39, the user confirming purchase of selected items of commerce via at least one of the m-commerce device and the terminal.
- 47. The method of claim 39, further comprising transmitting the item of commerce-related data from the m-commerce device after at least one of a single item of commerce dataform has been read and a plurality of item of commerce dataforms have been read.
- 48. The method of claim 39, the item of commerce-related data transmitted wirelessly from the m-commerce device over a network to the terminal, which network comprises at least one of a global communication network, LAN, and WAN.
- 49. The method of claim 39, further comprising transmitting device dataform data to an intermediate server to perform a look-up operation in order to determine the location of the terminal.
- 50. The method of claim 39, the terminal dataform is at least one of a bar code, encoded in association with a transponder system, encoded in association with an RFID system, and a magnetically encoded media.
- 51. The method of claim 39, the item of commerce dataform included in an item of commerce logo.
- 52. The method of claim 39, further comprising transmitting coupon data to at least one of the m-commerce device and terminal in response to the item of commerce dataform being read.
- 53. The method of claim 52, the coupon data utilized at the point of sale.
- 54. The method of claim 39, the m-commerce device being a personal device such that the device dataform of the m-commerce device is read when the user enters a store, in response to which user preferences information is automatically transmitted to the m-commerce device.
- 55. The method of claim 39, the item of commerce dataform included on at least one of a sign and a signboard, the sign is reusable such that the associated item of commerce dataform is reassociated with a second item of commerce at a later time.
- 56. A method presenting user transaction data to a user, comprising:
receiving an m-commerce device capable of reading a dataform; storing an item of commerce-related data in response to the m-commerce device reading an item of commerce dataform; transmitting the stored item of commerce-related data to a central server, the central server storing the item of commerce-related data in association with the user; reading a terminal dataform of a terminal with the m-commerce device; transmitting terminal dataform data of the terminal dataform to the central server; retrieving and transmitting the item of commerce-related data associated with the terminal dataform data to the terminal; and presenting the item of commerce-related data to the user via the terminal.
- 57. The method of claim 56, further comprising presenting user preferences information to the user via at least one of the m-commerce device and the terminal, the preferences information presented by,
automatically accessing a remote web site of preferences information; retrieving the preferences information; and presenting the preferences information to the user along with the item of commerce-related data.
- 58. The method of claim 56, the dataform is at least one of a bar code and portable data file format.
