Claims
- 1. An indicator for an indicating instrument including a driving shaft and a light emitting element, said indicator further comprising:
- a light conductive pointer having a light receiving portion and an illuminating surface;
- a fixture, having a center of rotation connected to said driving shaft, for securing said light receiving portion of said pointer adjacent to said light emitting element; and
- a cover disposed on said fixture for holding said pointer and said light emitting element between said cover and said fixture;
- wherein said illuminating surface of said light conductive pointer comprises a matted portion disposed on an upper surface of said pointer to scatter light emitted therein, thereby providing uniform illumination,
- wherein said light receiving portion comprises a horizontal convex surface at the upper surface thereof, and
- said light receiving portion further comprises a vertical concave surface.
- 2. An indicator as claimed in claim 1, wherein said cover has a slit extending longitudinally above said illuminating surface.
- 3. An indicator as claimed in claim 1, wherein said light conductive pointer has a pointer end and a bottom surface longitudinally extending in parallel with an optical axis and said upper surface tapers toward said pointer end.
- 4. An indicator as claimed in claim 1, wherein said light receiving portion of said light conductive pointer widens toward said light emitting element to receive light emitted from said light emitting element.
- 5. An indicator as claimed in claim 4, wherein said light receiving portion widens from a position at said matted portion toward said light emitting element.
- 6. An indicator for an indicating instrument including an internal driving unit and a driving shaft driven by said driving unit, said indicator comprising:
- a light emitting element;
- a longitudinally extending light conductive pointer having a light receiving portion and an upper illuminating surface;
- a fixture member having a center of rotation connected to said driving shaft, said fixture member securing said light receiving portion adjacent to said light emitting element; and
- a cover covering said fixture member, said pointer and said light emitting element, wherein
- said light conductive pointer comprises a matted portion at a limited area of said upper illuminating surface near said center of rotation to scatter excessive light emitted therein, thereby providing uniform illumination.
- 7. An indicator as claimed in claim 6, wherein said light receiving portion comprises a horizontal convex at the upper surface thereof.
- 8. An indicator as claimed in claim 6, wherein said cover has a slit extending from an outer periphery thereof.
- 9. An indicator as claimed in claim 6, wherein said light conductive pointer has a pointer end and a bottom surface longitudinally extending in parallel with an optical axis and an upper surface tapering toward said pointer end.
- 10. An indicator as claimed in claim 6, wherein said light receiving portion of said light conductive pointer widens toward said light emitting element to receive light emitted from said light emitting element.
