Claims
- 1. An image communicating method, comprising the steps of:producing image data indicating a particular image of a scanned manuscript written on a particular paper on a transmitting side, said image data being binary data representing the scanned manuscript; producing attribute information indicating a particular paper size of the particular paper on which said manuscript is written; transmitting the image data and the attribute information from the transmitting side to a receiving side by an electronic mail through an internet said image data and said attribute information being paired for each page of the scanned manuscript as a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area and converted into a mail format; upon receiving the electronic mail on the receiving side from said transmitting side extracting said file and obtaining therefrom said attribute information indicating the particular paper size of the particular paper; based on the attribute information judging whether or not the particular paper size is treatable on the receiving side; adjusting the image data on the receiving side in accordance with the attribute information to reproduce the particular image on a paper of a prescribed paper size treatable on the receiving side in cases where the particular paper size is not treatable on the receiving side; and printing the particular image on a prescribed paper of the prescribed paper size according to the adjusted image data on the receiving side.
- 2. An image communicating method according to claim 1 in which the step of producing image data includes the step ofobtaining the image data from the particular image at a particular image resolution, the step of judging whether or not the particular paper size is treatable on the receiving side includes the step of judging whether or not the particular image resolution is treatable on the receiving side, and the step of adjusting the image data includes the step of adjusting the image data to reproduce the particular image at a prescribed image resolution treatable on the receiving side.
- 3. An image communicating method according to claim 1 in which the step of adjusting the image data includes the step ofthinning off the image data.
- 4. A facsimile type electronic mail apparatus, comprising:reading means for reading a particular image of a manuscript written on a particular paper of a particular paper size on a transmitting side; data producing means for producing binary image data indicating the particular image read by the reading means and attribute information indicating the particular paper size of the particular paper on which said manuscript is written; transmitting and receiving means for transmitting the image data and the attribute information produced by the data producing means by an electronic mail on the transmitting side and receiving the image data and the attribute information through an internet on a receiving side, said image data and said attribute information being paired for each page of said manuscript as a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area and converted into a mail format; extracting means for extracting said file on the receiving side when said file is transmitted from said transmitting side to obtain said attribute information indicating the particular paper size of the particular paper; judging means for judging whether or not the particular paper size obtained by the extracting means is treatable on the receiving side; adjusting means for adjusting the image data on the receiving side to produce adjusted image data indicating an adjusted particular image reproducible on a paper of a prescribed paper size treatable on the receiving side in cases where it is judged by the judging means that the particular paper size is not treatable on the receiving side; and printing means for printing the adjusted particular image on a prescribed paper of the prescribed paper size according to the adjusted image data produced by the adjusting means on the receiving side.
- 5. A facsimile type electronic mail apparatus according to claim 4 in which it is judged by the judging means whether or not the particular image resolution is higher than a prescribed image resolution treatable on the receiving side, the image data is adjusted by the adjusting means to produce adjusted image data indicating a downsized particular image reproducible on a paper at the prescribed image resolution, and the downsized particular image is printed on the prescribed paper at the prescribed image resolution.
- 6. An image receiving apparatus, comprising:a local area network control unit for receiving an electronic mail including a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area for containing image data and attribute information being paired for each page of a scanned manuscript, said image data being binary data representing said scanned manuscript and said attribute information indicating a particular paper size of a particular paper on which said manuscript is written; data converting means for converting the electronic mail received by the local area network control unit into a set of the image data and the attribute information; data expanding means for expanding the image data obtained by the data converting means; data downsizing means for performing a downsizing operation for the image data expanded by the data expanding means according to the attribute information obtained by the data converting means to produce downsized image data; and printing means for printing a downsized image according to the downsized image data produced by the data downsizing means.
- 7. An image communicating apparatus, comprising:a scanning unit for reading a manuscript to produce scanned image data, said scanned image data being binary data representing the scanned manuscript; a compressing and expanding unit for compressing the scanned image data read by the scanning unit and expanding reception image data; a printing unit for printing the reception image data expanded by the compressing and expanding unit; a converting unit for converting the scanned image data compressed by the compressing and expanding unit into a transmission electronic mail and converting a reception electronic mail into the reception image data to be expanded by the compressing and expanding unit, each of said electronic mails including a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area for containing said scanned image data and attribute information being paired for each page of the scanned manuscript, and said attribute information indicating a particular paper size of a particular paper on which said manuscript is written; and a local area network control unit for performing a communication with a transmission side to receive the reception electronic mail from the transmission side or to transmit the transmission electronic mail to the transmission side, characterized in that the image communicating apparatus further comprises: processing means for performing a downsizing operation or an image resolution adjusting operation on reception image data of the reception electronic mail received by the local area network control unit according to said attribute information of the reception electronic mail; and control means for controlling the converting unit, the compressing and expanding unit and the printing unit to print out an adjusted image adjusted in accordance with the downsizing operation or the image resolution operation performed on the reception image data by the processing means.
- 8. An image communicating apparatus, comprising:a scanning unit for reading a manuscript to produce scanned image data, said scanned image data being binary data representing the scanned manuscript; a compressing and expanding unit for compressing the scanned image data read by the scanning unit and expanding reception image data; a printing unit for printing the reception image data expanded by the compressing and expanding unit; a converting unit for converting the scanned image data compressed by the compressing and expanding unit into a transmission electronic mail and converting a reception electronic mail into the reception image data to be expanded by the compressing and expanding unit, each of said electronic mails including a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area for containing said scanned image data and attribute information being paired for each page of the scanned manuscript, and said attribute information indicating a particular paper size of a particular paper on which said manuscript is written; and a local area network control unit for performing a communication with a transmission side to receive the reception electronic mail from the transmission side or to transmit the transmission electronic mail to the transmission side, characterized in that the image communicating apparatus further comprises: control means for controlling the converting unit to perform a downsizing operation or an image resolution adjusting operation on reception image data of the reception electronic mail received by the local area network control unit according to reception attribute information included in the reception electronic mail, controlling the printing unit to print out a downsized image or an image resolution adjusted image according to the reception image data processed by the processing means, controlling the converting unit to add transmission attribute information to the transmission electronic mail and controlling the local area network control unit to transmit the transmission electronic mail with the transmission attribute information to the transmission side.
- 9. A facsimile type electronic mail apparatus, comprising:a scanning unit for reading a manuscript to produce scanned image data, said scanned image data being binary data representing the scanned manuscript; a compressing and expanding unit for compressing the scanned image data read by the scanning unit and expanding reception image data; a printer for printing the reception image data expanded by the compressing and expanding unit; and a communicating unit for performing a facsimile communication and an electronic mail communication with a transmission side to receive a reception electronic mail including the reception image data from the transmission side or to transmit a transmission electronic mail including the scanned image data compressed by the compressing and expanding unit to the transmission side, each of said electronic mails including a file comprising an image data area and an attribute information area for containing said scanned image data and attribute information being paired for each page of the scanned manuscript, and said attribute information indicating a particular paper size of a particular paper on which said manuscript is written; characterized in that the facsimile type electronic mail apparatus further comprises: control means for performing a downsizing operation on the reception image data of the reception electronic mail received by the communicating unit according to the attribute information included in the reception electronic mail and controlling the compressing and expanding unit and the printer to print out the reception image data on which the downsizing operation is performed.
