Abstract
An image display device and a method of controlling an image display device are provided. The image display device may include a signal processor having a plurality of input/output ports to control a degaussing operation and a data download, a degaussing circuit connected a first port of the signal processor to perform the degaussing operation during a first mode, and a download interface connected to the first port of the signal processor to download data on the signal processor during a second mode.

Claims
  • 1. An image display device comprising: a signal processor having a plurality of ports to control a degaussing operation and a data download;a degaussing circuit coupled to a port of the signal processor to perform the degaussing operation during a first mode; anda download interface coupled to the port of the signal processor to download data during a second mode.
  • 2. The image display device of claim 1, wherein the first mode or the second mode is determined based on a signal at a port of the download interface.
  • 3. The image display device of claim 2, wherein the signal is a change of a state of the port.
  • 4. The image display device of claim 3, wherein the change of state is a change in voltage of the signal.
  • 5. The image display device of claim 2, wherein the signal is provided from an external source.
  • 6. The image display device according to claim 1, wherein the download interface includes a clock port, a data port, and a download port.
  • 7. The image display device according to claim 1, wherein the first mode is determined based on a download connector not being coupled to a port of the download interface.
  • 8. The image display device according to claim 7, wherein the second mode is determined based on the download connector being coupled to the port of the download interface.
  • 9. An image display device comprising: a signal processor having a plurality of ports;an operating circuit coupled to a port of the signal processor to perform an operation; anda download interface coupled to the port of the signal processor, the download interface having a port to download data,wherein the signal processor to allow the operating circuit to be operated or to allow data to be downloaded based on a signal at the port of the download interface.
  • 10. The image display device of claim 9, wherein the first mode or the second mode is determined based on the signal at the port of the download interface.
  • 11. The image display device of claim 10, wherein the signal is a change of a state of the port.
  • 12. The image display device of claim 11, wherein the change of state is a change in voltage of the signal.
  • 13. The image display device of claim 10, wherein the signal is provided from an external source.
  • 14. The image display device according to claim 9, wherein the signal processor determines whether a download connector is connected to the port of the download interface when a power source is applied.
  • 15. The image display device according to claim 9, wherein the operating circuit comprises a degaussing circuit to perform a degaussing operation.
  • 16. The image display device according to claim 9, wherein the operating circuit comprises a cooling fan operating circuit to control operations of a cooling fan.
  • 17. The image display device according to claim 9, wherein the operating circuit comprises a light emitting diode (LED) operating circuit to control operations of an LED.
  • 18. The image display device according to claim 9, wherein the operating circuit comprises a beep sound operating circuit to control a beep sound.
  • 19. A method of controlling an image display device, the method comprising: supplying a power source to a signal processor;determining whether a download connector is connected to a download interface, the download interface being coupled to a port of the signal processor;performing a download operation when the download connector is connected; andperforming a function of an operating circuit that is connected to the port of the signal processor when the download connector is not connected.
  • 20. The method according to claim 19, wherein the operating circuit comprises a degaussing circuit to perform a degaussing operation.
  • 21. The method according to claim 19, wherein determining whether the download connector is connected includes sensing a voltage level of a signal at a port of the download interface.
  • 22. The method according to claim 21, wherein the signal is provided from a computer.
