Claims
- 1. A memory device to be mounted on a process cartridge usable with an image forming apparatus, the process cartridge including a photosensitive drum and a part of image forming means, said memory device comprising:a first memory portion configured to store information relating to an amount of use of said photosensitive drum; a second memory portion configured to store information for effecting a predetermined process on the information relating to the amount of use of the photosensitive drum; and a third memory portion configured to store threshold information for changing an operational condition of the image forming means in accordance with the information stored in said first memory portion and information stored in said second memory portion.
- 2. A memory device according to claim 1, wherein said image forming means includes a charging member configured and positioned to electrically charge the photosensitive drum and a developing member configured and positioned to develop a latent image on the photosensitive drum.
- 3. A memory device according to claim 2, wherein the threshold information is used to switch a current to be applied to said charging member.
- 4. A memory device according to claim 2, where the threshold information is used to switch a voltage to be applied to the developing member.
- 5. A memory device according to claim 2, where the information relating to the amount of use of the photosensitive drum is related to an integrated time of application of a charging bias voltage to the charging member.
- 6. A memory device according to claim 1, wherein the information relating to the amount of use of the photosensitive drum is related to an integrated time of rotation of the photosensitive drum.
- 7. A memory device according to claim 1, wherein said memory device further includes a communication part configured and positioned to perform non-physical-contact communication with the image forming apparatus.
- 8. A memory device according to claim 7, wherein said communication part communicates with the image forming apparatus by electromagnetic waves.
