Claims
- 1. In a charging device for an image forming apparatus, a cleaning member is held in contact with a charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber, said charge roller being rotated before actual image formation.
- 2. A device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising an overcoat layer of fluoric resin formed over the elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber.
- 3. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller, the charge roller being rotated in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature.
- 4. The image forming apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising an overcoat layer of fluoric resin formed over the elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber.
- 5. An image forming apparatus comprising;
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller, the charge roller being rotated in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature;
- wherein the charge roller has a black surface.
- 6. The image forming apparatus according to claim 5, further comprising an overcoat layer of fluoric resin formed over the elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber.
- 7. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller;
- means for rotating the charge roller in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature.
- 8. The image forming apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising an overcoat layer of fluoric resin formed over the elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber.
- 9. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having an elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber:
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller;
- means for rotating the charge roller in contact with the cleaning member before actual formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature:
- wherein the charge roller has a black surface.
- 10. The image forming apparatus according to claim 9, further comprising an overcoat layer of fluoric resin formed over the elastic layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber.
- 11. In a charging device for an image forming apparatus, a cleaning member is held in contact with a charge roller having a layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber, said charge roller being rotated before actual image formation.
- 12. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having a layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber; and
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller, the charge roller being rotated in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature.
- 13. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having a layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber; and
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller, the charge roller being rotated in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature;
- wherein the charge roller has a black surface.
- 14. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having a layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller; and
- means for rotating the charge roller in contact with the cleaning member before actual image formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature.
- 15. An image forming apparatus comprising:
- a charge roller contacting a photoconductive drum, the charge roller having a layer formed of epichlorohydrin rubber;
- a cleaning member held in contact with the charge roller; and
- means for rotating the charge roller in contact with the cleaning member before actual formation to maintain a surface of the charge roller at a predetermined temperature;
- wherein the charge roller has a black surface.
