Claims
- 1. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof.
- 2. The image heating device according to claim 1, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 3. The image heating device according to claim 1, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 4. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein at least a part of the core has gaps in the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body.
- 5. The image heating device according to claim 4, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 6. The image heating device according to claim 4, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 7. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; and an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; further comprising a core made of magnetic material arranged in a state in which the exciting coil is existed between the core and the heat generating body, the core has opposing portions opposed to the heat generating body without interposing the exciting coil between the opposing portion and the heat generating body, and magnetic permeable portions opposed to the heat generating body via the exciting coil, wherein the area of the portion where the opposing portion is opposed to the heat generating body is larger than the cross sectional area of the magnetic permeable portion perpendicular to the circumferential direction of the heat generating body.
- 8. The image heating device according to claim 7, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 9. The image heating device according to claim 7, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 10. An image heating device comprising:a fixing belt suspended between a fixing roller and a supporting roller; and an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the fixing belt and adapted for allowing the fixing belt to generate heat with electromagnetic induction, wherein the fixing belt has conductivity, and the exciting coil is opposed to the supporting roller through the fixing belt and allows the fixing belt to be heated by induction heating.
- 11. An image heating device comprising:a fixing belt; a pressure means that is pressed against the fixing belt to form a nip portion on the right side of the fixing belt, a supporting roller movably suspending the fixing belt, and an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the fixing belt and adapted for allowing the fixing belt to generate heat by exciting the portion where the fixing belt is wound around the supporting roller, wherein the fixing belt has conductivity, and the exciting coil is opposed to the supporting roller through the fixing belt and allows the fixing belt to be heated by induction heating.
- 12. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof, and the distance between the end face of the core and the end face of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the facing space between the core and the heat generating body.
- 13. The image heating device according to claim 12, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 14. The image heating device according to claim 12, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 15. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof, and the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the width of a recording material having the maximum width of all the recording materials to be used.
- 16. The image heating device according to claim 15, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing bolt.
- 17. The image heating device according to claim 15, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 18. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof, the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the width of a recording material having the maximum width of all the recording materials to be used, and the width of the recording material having the maximum width of all the recording materials to be used is not shorter than the length of the outer peripheral portion of the exciting coil along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body.
- 19. The image heating device according to claim 18, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 20. The image heating device according to claim 18, wherein the exciting coil is arrange in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 21. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity; an exciting coil ranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the outer peripheral portion of the exciting coil along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof, the length of the outer peripheral portion of the exciting coil along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body, and the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the width of a recording material having the maximum width of all the recording materials to be used.
- 22. The image heating device according to claim 21, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 23. The image heating device according to claim 21, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
- 24. An image heating device comprising:a heat generating body that is rotatable and has electrical conductivity an exciting coil arranged in opposition to the peripheral surface of the heat generating body and adapted for allowing the heat generating body to generate heat with electromagnetic induction; and a core made of magnetic material arranged on a rear side of the exciting coil, wherein the length of the outer peripheral portion of the exciting coil along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is shorter than the length of the heat generating body in the direction of the rotation axis thereof, and the length of the outer peripheral portion of the exciting coil along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body is not shorter than the length of the core along the direction of the rotation axis of the heat generating body.
- 25. The image heating device according to claim 24, wherein the heat generating body is at least one selected from the group consisting of a heat-generating roller and a fixing belt.
- 26. The image heating device according to claim 24, wherein the exciting coil is arranged in opposition to the outer or inner peripheral surface of the heat generating body.
