Claims
- 1. An image magnification control device for a camera, the camera having an image magnification control mode switchable between ON and OFF states, said device comprising:
- magnification means for performing image magnification control in accordance with a value calculated in accordance with m.sub.o =x.sub.o /f.sub.o where m.sub.o is the image magnification, x.sub.o is the distance between a rear focal point of a photographic lens of the camera and an image plane, and f.sub.o is the focal length of the photographic lens;
- means for determining, when said image magnification control mode is in an ON state, if x.sub.o is below a predetermined distance value; and
- means for disabling said magnification means when x.sub.o is determined to be below the predetermined distance value.
- 2. The image magnification control device according to claim 1, wherein said predetermined distance value is linearly proportional to f.sub.o.
- 3. The image magnification control device according to claim 1, wherein said predetermined distance value is substantially smaller than f.sub.o.
- 4. The image magnification control device according to claim 1, further comprising:
- distance determining means for determining the distance x.sub.o ; and
- focal length determining means for determining the focal length f.sub.o.
- 5. The image magnification control device according to claim 1, wherein said disabling means comprises means for switching said image magnification control mode to an OFF state, when x.sub.o is determined to be below the predetermined distance value.
- 6. An image magnification control device for a camera, said device comprising:
- means for effecting image magnification control of the camera;
- means for determining, when an image magnification control mode is in an ON state, if a distance between a rear focal point of a photographic lens of the camera and an image plane is below a predetermined distance value; and
- means for disabling said magnification means when said distance is determined to be below the predetermined distance value.
- 7. The image magnification control device according to claim 6, wherein said effecting means comprises means for performing image magnification control in accordance with a ratio of said distance to the focal length of the photographic lens.
- 8. The image magnification control device according to claim 6, wherein said distance is linearly proportional to the focal length of the photographic lens.
- 9. The image magnification control device according to claim 6, wherein said distance is substantially smaller than the focal length of the photographic lens.
- 10. An image magnification control device for a camera, the camera having an image magnification control mode switchable between ON and OFF states, said device comprising:
- magnification means for performing image magnification control to keep an image magnification constant;
- means for determining if a distance x.sub.o between a rear focal point of a photographic lens of the camera and an image plane is below a predetermined distance value when said image magnification control mode is in an ON state; and
- means for disabling said magnification means when x.sub.o is determined to be below said predetermined distance value.
- 11. The image magnification control device of claim 10, wherein said disabling means comprises means for switching said image magnification control to an OFF state when x.sub.o is determined to be below said predetermined distance value.
- 12. The image magnification control device of claim 10, wherein an image magnification is based upon a relationship of said distance between said rear focal point of said photographic lens and said image plane and a focal length of said photographic lens.
