Claims
- 1. An image pickup apparatus comprising a camera main-body unit, a lens unit detachable from said camera main-body unit, attachment/detachment determining means for determining a state of said lens unit attached to or detached from said camera main-body unit, image pickup means, video signal generating means for outputting a predetermined video signal corresponding to a predetermined picture which has a mono-color background, for indicating a misattachment of said lens unit, switching means for selectively switching between the predetermined video signal and the video signal picked up by said image pickup means, monitor means for monitoring the video signal or the predetermined video signal selected by said switching means, and control means for controlling said switching means in accordance with a determination result from said attachment/detachment determining means so as to cause said switching means to select the predetermined video signal in the case that said attachment/detachment determining means determines said lens unit is detached from said camera main-body unit.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the predetermined video signal is a video signal for displaying a blue-black picture.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said monitor means is an electronic viewfinder.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising output means for outputting the predetermined video signal to equipment other than said monitor means.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said attachment/detachment determining means discriminates attachment and detachment of said lens unit on the basis of a communication state of control information that communication means provides between said camera main-body unit and said lens unit.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said control means turns off electric power to a portion of said camera main-body unit in the case that the detachment of said lens unit is discriminated by said attachment/detachment determining means.
- 7. An image pickup apparatus comprising a camera main-body unit, an accessory detachable from said camera main-body unit, attachment/detachment determining means for determining a state of said accessory attached to or detached from said camera main-body unit, image pickup means, determination signal generating means for outputting a predetermined video signal corresponding to a predetermined determination picture which has a mono-color background, switching means for selectively switching between the predetermined video signal and the image signal picked up by said image pickup means, output means for outputting the image signal or the predetermined video signal selected by said switching means, and control means for controlling said switching means in accordance with a determination result from said attachment/detachment determining means so as to cause said switching means to select the predetermined video signal in the case that said attachment/detachment determining means determines said accessory is detached from said camera main-body unit.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the predetermined determination picture is a mono-color picture.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said attachment/detachment determining means discriminates attachment and detachment of said accessory on the basis of a state of communication of control information between said camera main-body unit and said accessory.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein said control means turns off electric power to a portion of said camera main-body unit in the case that the detachment of said accessory is discriminated by said attachment/detachment determining means.
