Claims
- 1. An image processing system comprising:
- means for scanning an original document;
- means for designating an arbitrary area of the original document and for generating coordinate data representing coordinates of the designated arbitrary area;
- means for reproducing on a material an image of the designated arbitrary area of the original document scanned by said scanning means;
- means for detecting a size of the material;
- means for automatically determining a reproducing position of an image on the material in accordance with the coordinate data of the designated arbitrary area and the size of the material detected by said detecting means so as to reproduce automatically the image of the designated arbitrary area at the center of the material; and
- means for controlling said reproducing means in accordance with the reproducing position determined by said determining means so as to reproduce the image of the designated arbitrary area at the center of the material.
- 2. A image processing system according to claim 1, wherein said scanning means generates an image signal representing a scanned original image, and said reproducing means reproduces an image on the basis of the image signal.
- 3. An image processing system according to claim 1, further comprising means for extracting the image of the designated arbitrary area from an image of the original document.
- 4. An image processing system according to claim 1, wherein said determining means determines the reproducing position in accordance with a length and a width of the designated arbitrary area and a length and a width of the material.
- 5. An image processing system comprising:
- means for scanning an original document;
- means for reproducing on a material an image of the original document scanned by said scanning means;
- means for detecting a size of the material;
- means for discriminating a size of the original document by pre-scanning the original document by said scanning means during a preparation operation for image reproduction by said reproducing means;
- means for determining a magnification in accordance with the size of the material detected by said detecting means and the size of the original document discriminated by said discriminating means; and
- means for controlling the image reproduction of said reproducing means so as to reproduce the image of the original document at the magnification determined by said determining means.
- 6. A image processing system according to claim 5, wherein said discriminating means discriminates at least one of a size and position of the original document.
- 7. An image processing system according to claim 5, wherein said scanning means generates an image signal representing a scanned original image, and said reproducing means reproduces an image on the basis of the image signal.
- 8. An image processing system according to claim 5, wherein said discriminating means discriminates the size of the original document in accordance with the image signal generated by said scanning means.
- 9. An image processing system comprising:
- means for scanning an original document;
- means for designating an arbitrary area of the original document and for generating coordinate data representing coordinates of the designated arbitrary area;
- means for reproducing on a material an image of the designated arbitrary area of the original document scanned by said scanning means;
- means for detecting a size of the material;
- means for instructing a reproducing position of the image of the designated arbitrary area on the material; and
- means for controlling said reproducing means in one of first and second modes, wherein the first mode said controlling means controls said reproducing means in accordance with the coordinate data generated by said designating means and the reproducing position instructed by said instructing means so that the image of the designated arbitrary area is reproduced at the reproducing position instructed by said instructing means, and wherein in the second mode said controlling means controls said reproducing means in accordance with the coordinate data generated by said designating means and the size of the material detected by said detecting means so that the image of the designated arbitrary area is automatically reproduced at the center of the material regardless of the instruction by said instructing means.
- 10. An image processing system according to claim 9, wherein in the second mode said control means controls said reproducing means in accordance with a length and a width of the designated arbitrary area and a length and a width of the material.
- 11. An image processing system according to claim 9, wherein said scanning means generates an image signal representing a scanned original image, and said reproducing means reproduces an image on the basis of the image signal.
- 12. An image processing system according to claim 9, further comprising means for extracting the image of the designated arbitrary area from an image of the original document.
- 13. An image processing system comprising:
- means for scanning an original image;
- means for reproducing on a material an image of the original document scanned by said scanning means;
- means for detecting a length and a width of the original document;
- means for determining a first magnification in accordance with the detected length and a second magnification in accordance with the detected width; and
- means for controlling said reproducing means in accordance with a smaller one of the first magnification and the second magnification so as to reproduce the image of the original image within the material.
- 14. An image processing system according to claim 13, wherein said detecting means determines a plurality of coordinates of the original document.
- 15. An image processing system according to claim 13, wherein said determining means determines the first and second magnification in accordance with a size of the material.
- 16. An image processing system according to claim 13, wherein said scanning means generates an image signal representing a scanned original image, and wherein said reproducing means reproduces an image on the basis of the image signal.
- 17. An image processing system according to claim 16, wherein said detecting means detects the size of the original on the basis of an image signal produced by said scanning means.
- 18. A system according to clam 5, wherein said reproducing means forms a toner image on a photosensitive member and transfers the toner image onto the material.
