Claims
- 1. An image recording apparatus in which images are recorded on a recording medium by means of an ink sheet having a plurality of ink layers having different color tones on a substrate comprising:
- a mounting portion for mounting said ink sheet;
- recording means which is adapted to act on said ink sheet mounted on said mounting portion;
- designating means for designating color tones of the images to be recorded on said recording medium;
- means for discriminating a type of ink sheet mounted on said mounting portion; and
- control means for controlling, in accordance with the color tones designated by said designating means and in accordance with discrimination results of said discriminating means, a condition for separation of said ink sheet from said recording medium after an action of said recording means on said ink sheet.
- 2. An image record apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said ink sheet has at least a first ink layer and a second ink layer on said substrate, and a relationship between a magnitude of a first adhesion force between said second ink layer and said first ink layer and a magnitude of a second adhesion force between said substrate and said first ink layer is such that the magnitude of the first force is greater than the magnitude of the second force at high temperature and the relationship is reversed upon cooling such that the magnitude of the second force is greater than the magnitude of the first force.
- 3. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein ink layers of different said color tones are laminated on said substrate.
- 4. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means is adapted for controlling a timing at which said ink sheet is separated from said recording medium.
- 5. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means includes a member which is movable between a pressing position where it presses said ink sheet onto said recording medium and a retracted position where it is retracted from said pressing position.
- 6. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording means includes a thermal head which is movable along said recording medium.
- 7. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording means includes a thermal head which is provided with first and second heat generating members arranged in a direction relative to said ink sheet, and either one of said first and second heat generating members is selectively activated to generate heat in accordance with color tone data.
- 8. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording means includes a thermal head which is provided with a main heat generating member and an auxiliary heat generating member, said heat generating members being adapted to be activated selectively either in a mode in which only the main heat generating member is activated or in another mode in which both the main and auxiliary heat generating members are activated.
- 9. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording means includes a thermal head which varies a output temperature in accordance with color tone data.
- 10. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means includes a member provided on a main part of said recording apparatus and movable between a pressing position where it presses said ink sheet onto said recording medium and a retracted position in which it has been retracted from said pressing position.
- 11. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said ink sheet is accommodated in a cassette adapted to be detachably mounted on said mounting portion.
- 12. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said ink sheet includes a correction ribbon and said control means is further adapted to control, in accordance with correction data, a condition of separation of said ink sheet from said recording medium after action of said recording means on said ink sheet.
- 13. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein both an ink sheet for recording and an ink sheet for a purpose of correction of recorded image are selectively mountable on said mounting portion.
- 14. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said ink sheet comprises a two-colored ribbon and said mounting portion has two stages including a first stage for mounting a correction ribbon and a second stage for mounting said two-colored ribbon.
- 15. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means is further adapted to control said recording means.
- 16. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means includes a pressing member adapted to press said ink sheet onto the recording medium and said recording means is adapted to be moved up and down with respect to the recording medium in an interlocked relation with the movement of said pressing member.
- 17. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a driving power source and wherein said control means includes a pressing member for pressing an ink sheet onto the recording medium and said recording means is adapted to be moved up and down with respect to the recording medium by power derived from said driving power source which also drives said pressing member.
- 18. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means varies a force with which said ink sheet is pressed onto said recording medium.
- 19. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means is adapted to control a rate of generation of heat in said recording means.
- 20. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means is provided downstream from a recording position where said ink sheet undergoes a recording operation as viewed in a direction of movement of said ink sheet.
- 21. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means includes a slack take-up means for taking up any slack of said ink sheet which is caused when the timing of separation of said ink sheet from said recording medium is changed.
- 22. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means is manually operable.
- 23. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said designating means has a color tone change key and outputs a designating signal in response to actuation of said key.
- 24. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said control means determines color of images to be recorded in accordance with a color designating signal outputted from said designating means.
- 25. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a carriage for carrying said recording means and wherein said control means controls a moving speed of said carriage in accordance with discrimination results of said discriminating means.
- 26. An image recording apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording means comprises a thermal head and said control means controls a heating condition of said thermal head in accordance with discrimination results of said discriminating means.
- 27. An image recording apparatus in which an image is recorded on a recording medium by means of an ink sheet having a plurality of ink layers having different color tones on a substrate, comprising:
- a mounting portion for mounting said ink sheet;
- recording means which is adapted to act on said ink sheet mounted on said mounting portion;
- designating means for designating color tones of the image to be recorded on said recording medium;
- control means for controlling, in accordance with the color tones designated by said designating means, a condition for separation of said ink sheet from said recording medium after an action of said recording means on said ink sheet, wherein said ink sheet is accommodated in a cassette adapted to be detachably mounted on said mounting portion, and said cassette has a member for pressing said ink sheet onto the recording medium.
- 28. An ink sheet cassette detachably mounted on an image recording apparatus for recording an image having a color tone in accordance with color tone information, said ink sheet cassette comprising:
- an ink sheet having a plurality of ink layers having different colors on a substrate;
- an ink sheet supply section for unwinding said ink sheet;
- an ink sheet winding section for winding said ink sheet supplied from said ink sheet supply section;
- a driving force receiving section for receiving a driving force for causing said ink sheet winding section to wind said ink sheet; and
- changing means which operates in accordance with color tones of the image to be recorded for changing a conveyance route from said ink sheet supply section to said ink sheet winding section so as to record images having different color tones by receiving the driving force from a body of said image recording apparatus.
- 29. An ink sheet cassette according to claim 28, wherein said ink sheet has at least a first ink layer and a second ink layer on said substrate, and a relationship between a magnitude of a first adhesion force between said second ink layer and said first ink layer and a magnitude of a second adhesion force between said substrate and said first ink layer is such that the magnitude of the first force is greater than the magnitude of the second force at high temperature and the relationship is reversed upon cooling such that the magnitude of the second force is greater than the magnitude of the first force.
