Claims
- 1. An image sensing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) an image sensor having a plurality of picture elements each for forming an electrical signal;
- (b) monitor means having a fewer number of picture elements than said image sensor;
- (c) recording means for recording an output signal of said image sensor;
- (d) switching means for selectively guiding the output signal of said image sensor to one of said monitor means and said recording means; and
- (e) control means for controlling said image sensor according to a switching operation of said switching means so as to read out the respective electrical signals of said picture elements from said image sensor as the output signal of said image sensor in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said recording means, and so as to read out the electrical signals of groups of said picture elements added together from said image sensor as the output signal of said image sensor in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said monitor means.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of picture elements of said image sensor are arranged in rows and columns.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said control means is arranged to form added outputs by adding together the electrical signals of the respective picture elements of every plural rows in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said monitor means.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 3, wherein said added outputs are formed by adding together the electrical signals of the respective picture elements of every two rows.
- 5. An image sensing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) an image sensor having a plurality of picture elements each for forming an electrical signal;
- (b) monitor means having a fewer number of picture elements than said image sensor;
- (c) output means for conducting an output signal of said image sensor to the outside of the image sensing apparatus;
- (d) switching means for selectively guiding the output signal of said image sensor to one of said monitor means and said output means; and
- (e) control means for controlling said image sensor according to a switching operation of said switching means so as to read out the respective electrical signals of said picture elements from said image sensor as the output signal of said image sensor in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said output means, and so as to read out the electrical signals of groups of said picture elements added together from said image sensor as the output signal of said image sensor in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said monitor means.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the plurality of picture elements of said image sensor are arranged in rows and columns.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 6, wherein said control means is arranged to form added outputs by adding together the electrical signals of the respective picture elements of every plural rows in case said switching means guides the output signal of said image sensor to said monitor means.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said added outputs are formed by adding together the electrical signals of the respective picture elements of every two rows.
- 9. An image sensing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) an image sensor having a plurality of picture elements each for forming an electrical signal;
- (b) switching means for selecting a first mode in which the respective electrical signals of said picture elements are read out from said image sensor as an output signal of said image sensor and a second mode in which the electrical signals of said picture elements are partially added together and read out from said image sensor as an output signal of said image sensor;
- (c) exposure control means for controlling a light amount incident on said image sensor; and
- (d) means for controlling said exposure control means to change the light amount incident on said image sensor according to a selecting operation of said switching means so as not to cause a difference in the level of the output signal read out from said image sensor between said first mode and said second mode.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the plurality of picture elements of said image sensor are arranged in rows and columns.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 10, wherein in said second mode the respective electrical signals of the picture elements are read out by adding together the electrical signals of the respective picture elements of every plural rows.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said plural rows are two rows.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the exposure control means includes a stop device.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the exposure control means includes a shutter.
- 15. An image sensing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) image sensing means for sensing optical images and converting the optical images into electrical signals;
- (b) switching means for selecting one of a first mode in which the electric signals are readout after partially adding them together and a second mode in which the electric signals are readout without adding them together; and
- (c) control means for varying an amount of incident light to the image sensing means in response to switching operation of said switching means.
- 16. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 15, wherein in the first mode, the electric signals corresponding to everyone of a plurality of lines in the image sensing means are added together in a predetermined combination.
- 17. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 15, wherein said control means is arranged so as to control the amount of incident light to the image sensing means so that said amount of incident light is increased in the second mode as compared to the first mode.
- 18. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 15, wherein the control means includes exposure control means for controlling the amount of incident light to the image sensing means.
- 19. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 18, wherein the exposure control means includes a stop device.
- 20. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 18, wherein the exposure control means includes a shutter.
- 21. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 15, wherein the image sensing means includes a CCD.
- 22. An image apparatus, comprising:
- (a) image sensing means for sensing optical images and converting the optical images into electric signals;
- (b) drive means selectively effecting reading in one of a first reading mode in which the electric signals at the image sensing means are read out in a predetermined process and a second reading mode in which said electric signals are read out while mixing them in a process where a resolution of the read out electric signals is reduced as compared with said first predetermined process; and
- (c) control means for controlling an amount of incident light to the image sensing means in response to selection of the reading mode of said drive means.
- 23. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 22, wherein said control means is arranged so as to control the amount of incident light to the image sensing means so that said amount of incident light is reduced in the second reading mode as compared to that in the first reading mode.
- 24. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 22, wherein said the control means includes exposure control means.
- 25. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 24, wherein the exposure control means includes a stop device.
- 26. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 24, wherein the exposure control means includes a shutter.
- 27. An image sensing apparatus according to claim 22, wherein the image sensing means includes a CCD.
