Claims
- 1. A camera having an image movement detecting device for detecting a movement of an image on an image sensing plane on the basis of an image signal output from image sensing means, comprising:
- a) detection means for detecting the displacement of the image on the basis of image signals corresponding to a plurality of detection areas set on said image sensing plane;
- b) means for computing representative displacement information of the image on the basis of the output of said detection means;
- c) compensating means for outputting an image signal, in which a representative displacement of said image has been compensated, on the basis of the representative displacement information obtained by said computing means; and
- d) recording means for recording the signal outputted from said compensating means on a recording medium, said plurality of detection areas including at least first and second detection areas, an image located within said first area corresponding to a main object image in said image sensing plane and said second detection area corresponding to a background of said main object image in said image sensing plane.
- 2. A camera according to claim 1, wherein each of said detection means is arranged to obtain the center of gravity of an image from a histogram formed by converting a luminance level of the image signal into a binary value and computing a movement vector of an image on the basis of a movement quantity of said center of gravity in a plurality of images obtained at intervals of a predetermined period of time, and compensating means is provided to compensate said image signal on the basis of said movement vector.
- 3. An image shake detecting device for detecting a shake of an image on an image sensing plane on the basis of an image signal output from image sensing means, comprising:
- a) first detecting means for detecting the displacement of the image on the basis of an image signal corresponding to a first detection area set approximately in a central part of said image sensing plane;
- b) second detecting means for detecting the displacement of the image on the basis of an image signal corresponding to a second detection area set on said image sensing plane in an area located around said first detection area;
- c) switching means for selecting one of said first detection means and said second detection means;
- d) image shake detecting means for computing the shake of the image on the basis of an output of said first detection means or said second detection means selected by said switching means, and wherein said shake detecting means has a first mode in which a shake of an image is detected on the basis of detection information obtained from said first detection area and a second mode in which a shake of an image is detected on the basis of detection information obtained from said second detection area;
- e) compensating means for displacing an optical axis of a photo-taking optical system which forms an image from an incident light on an imaging plane of said image sensing means, wherein said compensating means is a variable apex-angle prism inserted in said photo-taking optical system, and wherein said driving control means is arranged to vary an apex angle of said variable apex-angle prism in the direction of decreasing a quantity of the shake of the image on the basis of information on the shake of the image output from said image shake detecting means; and
- f) driving control means for driving said compensating means on the basis of an output of said image shake detecting means.
- 4. A device accordingly to claim 3, wherein said switching means includes means for manually selecting one of said first mode and said second mode.
- 5. A device according to claim 4, wherein said switching means includes means for automatically selecting one of said first mode and said second mode.
- 6. A device according to claim 5, wherein said detecting means includes means for detecting a predetermined signal component corresponding to a sharpness in the image signal obtained from each of said first and second detection areas, and wherein said switching means is arranged to select one of said first and second detection areas which is greater in a quantity of detection of said predetermined signal component.
- 7. A device according to claim 6, wherein said detecting means is arranged to stop performing an image shake detecting action thereof when the quantity of detection of said predetermined signal component in said first or second detection area is less than a predetermined level.
- 8. A video camera comprising:
- (a) image sensing means for sensing an image and outputting an image signal corresponding to the image;
- (b) detecting means for detecting a movement of the image on the basis of image signals at a plurality of points set in an image sensing plane, said detecting means being arranged to detect the movement of the image by comparing the image signals at the plurality of points on said image sensing plane at fields occurring at respective different times;
- (c) computing means for computing representative movement information of the image on the basis of the output of said detecting means;
- (d) compensating means for compensating the movement of the image to cancel the representative movement information computed by said computing means and to output an image signal compensated for the representative movement information;
- (e) auto-focusing means for automatically adjusting a focus condition on the basis of the image signal compensated for the representative movement information and output by said compensating means; and
- (f) recording means for recording the compensated image signal output from said compensating means on a recording medium.
- 9. A video camera according to claim 8, wherein said compensating means is optical correcting means for optically correcting the movement of the image.
- 10. A video camera according to claim 8, wherein said detecting means is arranged to extract and store the image of each of a plurality of horizontal scanning lines on the image sensing plane of one field and to detect the movement of the image by comparing said image with image information of each horizontal scanning line on a next field.
- 11. A video camera according to claim 10, wherein said detecting means is arranged to detect the movement of the image at a central part of the image sensing plane of said one field and at a plurality of positions surrounding said central part.
- 12. A video camera according to claim 8, wherein said detecting means includes an A/D converter for effecting A/D conversion of the image signal output from said image sensing means, a memory for storing a digital image signal output from said A/D converter and a computing circuit for comparing said image signal with image information stored in said memory and detecting movement of the image.
- 13. A video camera according to claim 8, wherein said recording means includes a video tape recorder for recording the image signal on a magnetic tape.
- 14. An image processing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) imaging means for outputting an image signal corresponding to an image;
- (b) detecting means for detecting a movement of the image on the basis of image signals at a plurality of points set in an image plane, said detecting means being arranged to detect the movement of the image by comparing the image signals at a plurality of areas on said image plane at fields occurring at respective different times;
- (c) computing means for computing representative movement information of the image on the basis of the output of said detecting means;
- (d) compensating means for compensating the movement of the image to cancel the representative movement information computed by said computing means;
- (e) processing means for performing a predetermined process to the image signal compensated for the movement thereof by said compensating means and outputting a processed signal; and
- (f) recording means for recording the image signal output from said processing means.
- 15. An apparatus according to claim 14, further comprising selecting means for selecting a plurality of areas on said image plane.
- 16. An apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said detecting means is arranged to detect the movement of the image from image signals in the areas selected by said selecting means.
- 17. An apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said plurality of areas includes a central part of the imaging plane and areas surrounding said central part.
- 18. An apparatus according to claim 14, wherein said recording means is a video tape recorder, and said processing means is arranged to effect processing of the image signal into a signal form which can be recorded by said video tape recorder.
- 19. A video recorder with a camera comprising:
- (a) a variable angle prism;
- (b) image sensing means for outputting an image signal corresponding to an image;
- (c) detecting means for detecting a movement of the image on the basis of image signals, said detecting means being arranged to detect the movement of the image by comparing image signals at a predetermined area on an image sensing plane at fields occurring at respective different times;
- (d) computing means for computing a representative movement information of the image on the basis of the output of said detecting means;
- (e) compensating means for driving said variable angle prism to compensate for the movement of the image to cancel the representative movement information computed by said computing means; and
- (f) recording means for recording the image signal compensated for the movement of the image.
- 20. A video recorder according to claim 19, wherein said variable angle prism is disposed at a front of a photographing lens.
- 21. A video recorder according to claim 20, wherein said detecting means is arranged to extract and store the image of each of a plurality of horizontal scanning lines on the image sensing plane of one field and to detect movement of the image by comparing said stored image with image information of each horizontal scanning line on a next field.
- 22. A video recorder according to claim 21, wherein said detecting means includes an A/D converter for effecting A/D conversion of the image signal output from said image sensing means, a memory for storing a digital image signal output from said A/D converter and a computing circuit for comparing said image signal with image information stored in said memory, and detecting the movement of the image.
- 23. A video recorder according to claim 21, wherein said recording means includes a video tape recorder for recording the image signal compensate for movement on a magnetic tape.
- 24. A video signal processing apparatus, comprising:
- (a) input means for inputting an image signal;
- (b) detecting means for detecting a movement of an image on the basis of the image signal, said detecting means being arranged to detect the movement of the image by comparing the image signals on a plurality of points on an image plane at fields occurring at respective different times;
- (c) computing means for computing representative movement information of the image on the basis of the output of said detecting means and outputting a drive signal for compensating for the movement of the image to cancel the representative movement information;
- (d) compensating means arranged to store the drive signal output from said computing means, to delay said signal for a predetermined period and to add the delayed signal to said drive signal; and
- (e) image processing means for performing a predetermined processing to the image signal cancelling the representative movement information.
- 25. An apparatus according to claim 24, wherein said predetermined period is a period which is required from the time when said detecting means starts detection of the movement of the image to the time when said computing means outputs the drive signal in response to a result of the detection.
- 26. An apparatus according to claim 25, wherein said detecting means, computing means and compensating means are arranged to operate in synchronism with a V synchronizing signal, and said compensating means is arranged to store the drive signal before two V synchronizing signals and to add said signal to the current drive signal.
- 27. An apparatus according to claim 26, wherein said computing means includes a first coefficient circuit for applying a predetermined coefficient to the drive signal and said compensating circuit includes a second coefficient circuit for applying a predetermined coefficient to said stored drive signal.
- 28. An apparatus according the claim 27, wherein said first coefficient circuit is arranged to multiply the drive signal by a coefficient which is not larger than 1 and said second coefficient circuit is arranged to multiply the drive signal by a coefficient which is equal to 1.
- 29. An apparatus according to claim 24, wherein said image processing means is arranged to effect recording operation for recording an image signal on a magnetic tape.
