Claims
- 1. A compound of the general formula (I):
- 2. A compound according to claim 1, wherein R1 is hydrogen.
- 3. A compound according to claim 1, wherein R2 is hydrogen.
- 4. A compound according to claim 1, wherein R3 and R4 are both hydrogen.
- 5. A compound according to claim 1, wherein m is 1 and n is 2.
- 6. A compound according to claim 1, wherein m is 0 and n is 3.
- 7. A compound according to claim 1, wherein X is a valence bond.
- 8. A compound according to claim 1, wherein p is 0, 1 or 2.
- 9. A compound according to claim 8, wherein p is 0 or 1.
- 10. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Y is a valence bond.
- 11. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Y is —O—.
- 12. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Y is —NR9—.
- 13. A compound according to claim 1, wherein V is ═O.
- 14. A compound according to claim 1, wherein V is ═S.
- 15. A compound according to claim 1, wherein W is —NR11—.
- 16. A compound according to claim 15, wherein R11 is hydrogen or methyl.
- 17. A compound according to claim 1, wherein W is a valence bond.
- 18. A compound according to claim 1, wherein q is 0, 1 or 2.
- 19. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Z is selected from C1-6-alkyl, C2-6-alkenyl, aryl, aryloxy, heteroaryl, C3-10-cycloalkyl, C3-8-heterocyclyl and aryl annulated with C3-8-heterocyclyl.
- 20. A compound according to claim 19 wherein Z is aryl, aryloxy, heteroaryl, C3-10-cycloalkyl, C3-8-heterocyclyl or aryl annulated with C3-8-heterocyclyl, or C1-6-alkyl or C2-6-alkenyl, which is substituted with
aryl, aroyl, aryloxy, heteroaryl, C3-10-cycloalkyl, C3-8-heterocyclyl or aryl annulated with C3-8-heterocyclyl.
- 21. A compound according to claim 20, wherein Z is aryl, aryloxy, heteroaryl, C3-10-cycloalkyl, C3-8-heterocyclyl or aryl annulated with C3-8-heterocyclyl, or C1-6-alkyl or C2-6-alkenyl, which is substituted with
aryl, aryloxy, aroyl, heteroaryl, C3-10-cycloalkyl, C3-8-heterocyclyl or aryl annulated with C3-8-heterocyclyl.
- 22. A compound according to claim 21, wherein Z is phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl, naphthyloxy, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, piperidyl, quinolinyl, pyridyl, thienyl, thiazolyl, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuranyl, benzofuranyl, benzo[1,3]dioxolyl, bicyclo[2,2,1]heptyl, adamantyl, benzimidazol, benzotriazolyl or benzothiophenyl, or
C1-6-alkyl or C2-6-alkenyl, which is substituted with
phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl, naphthyloxy, benzoyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, piperidyl, quinolinyl, pyridyl, thienyl, thiazolyl, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuranyl, benzofuranyl, benzo[1,3]dioxolyl, bicyclo[2,2,1]heptyl, adamantyl, benzimidazol, benzotriazolyl or benzothiophenyl.
- 23. A compound according to claim 22, wherein Z is phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl, naphthyloxy, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, piperidyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuranyl, benzo[1 ,3]dioxolyl or bicyclo[2,2,1]heptyl, or
C1 6-alkyl or C2-6-alkenyl, which is substituted with
phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl, naphthyloxy, benzoyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, piperidyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuranyl, benzo[1,3]dioxolyl or bicyclo[2,2,1]heptyl.
- 24. A compound according to claim 23, wherein Z is phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl or naphthyloxy, which is optionally substituted, or C1-6-alkyl or C2-6-alkenyl, which is substituted with
phenyl, phenoxy, naphthyl, benzoyl or naphthyloxy.
- 25. A compound according to claim 24, wherein Z is phenyl.
- 26. A compound according to claim 19, wherein Z is unsubstituted or substituted with one or two substituents selected from
C1-6-alkylsulfonyl, hydroxy, C1-6-alkyl, C1-6-alkoxy, halogen, —OCF3, —CF3, —N(C1-6-alkyl)2, C1-6-alkylthio, C1-6-alkoxy substituted with hydroxy and C1-6-alkyl substituted with hydroxy, phenyl and phenoxy.
- 27. A compound according to claim 26, wherein Z is unsubstituted or substituted with one or two substituents selected from C1-6-alkyl, C1-6-alkoxy, -CF3, —OCF3, phenoxy and halogen.

- 37. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 36, further comprising one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or excipients.
- 38. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in unit dosage form, comprising from about 0.05 mg to about 1000 mg, preferably from about 0.1 mg to about 500 mg and especially preferred from about 0.5 mg to about 200 mg of the compound.
- 39. A method of treating disorders and diseases related to the histamine H3 receptor, comprising administering an effective amount to the compound of claim 1 to a patient in need thereof.
- 40. The method of claim 39, wherein the disorder is overweight or obesity.
- 41. The method of claim 39, wherein the disorder is one of appetite, bulimia, and binge eating, IGT, Type 2 diabetes, allergic rhinitis, ulcer, or anorexia.
- 42. The method of claim 39, for delaying or preventing of the progression from non-insulin requiring Type 2 diabetes to insulin requiring Type 2 diabetes.
