Claims
- 1. An assembly for use in prosthetic implant restorations in dentistry, the assembly comprising in combination: a mounting element chosen to be compatible to and receivable on an associated implant and having a first portion dimensioned to extend above an associated implant, an abutment post receivable on said mounting element and having an external surface dimensioned and shaped to receive a crown or a coping, said mounting element and post having generally aligned through passages, and means receivable in said passages for securing said mounting element and post to an associated implant, said means including a first screw receivable in and engageable with said mounting element to secure said mounting element relative to an associated implant, and a second screw threadable into said first screw and engageable with the post to secure the post to said mounting element, and wherein there is further included a coping and means securing the coping on said post.
- 2. An assembly for use in prosthetic implant restorations in dentistry including an implant, the assembly comprising in combination: an adaptor chosen to be compatible to and receivable on an associated implant and having a first portion projecting from the implant, an abutment post mounted on the first portion of the adaptor, said adaptor having an axial passage extending in one end thereof, means for adjusting the relative angular positions of the post and adaptor to compensate for angulated implants, means including a first screw received in the axial passage of said adaptor for securing the adaptor to said implant, and means including a second screw for securing the post to said adaptor, a member mounted on the post and means including a third screw for securing the member to the post and wherein said first and second screws are received one within the other.
- 3. An assembly for use in prosthetic implant restorations in dentistry including an implant, the assembly comprising in combination: an adaptor chosen to be compatible to and receivable on an associated implant and having a first portion projecting from the implant, an abutment post mounted on the first portion of the adaptor, said adaptor having an axial passage extending from one end thereof, means for adjusting the relative angular positions of the post and adaptor to compensate for angulated implants, means including a first screw member received in the axial passage of said adaptor for securing the adaptor to said implant, and means including a second screw member for securing the post to said adaptor, a connecting member mounted on the post and means including a third screw member for securing the connecting member to the post and wherein said screw members are received one within the other.
- 4. The assembly defined in claim 3 wherein said post includes a collar formed integral therewith.
- 5. The assembly defined in claim 4 wherein the abutment post is made from one of the following materials; thermoplastic, gold alloy, titanium, titanium alloy, ceramic.
- 6. The assembly defined in claim 3 wherein the abutment post extends at an angle to the adaptor.
