Claims
- 1. A body implantable lead, comprising:
- an insulated lead body containing an electrically conductive element;
- a first electrically conductive elongate element having an oval or egg-shaped configuration and being electrically coupled to the electrically conductive element;
- a second electrically conductive elongate element having a linear configuration and being electrically coupled to the electrically conductive element, the second element bisecting the first element along a long axis of the oval or egg-shaped configuration;
- a third electrically conductive elongate element positioned adjacent to and within a perimeter defined by a first half of the bisected first element;
- a fourth electrically conductive elongate element positioned adjacent to and a within a perimeter defined by a second half of the bisected first element; and
- a support backing attached to the first, second, third, and fourth electrically conductive elongate elements.
- 2. The body implantable lead of claim 1, wherein the support backing is a reinforced silicone rubber sheet.
- 3. The body implantable lead of claim 1, wherein the support backing is a fabric sheet.
- 4. The body implantable lead of claim 1, including a fifth element and a sixth element the fifth element electrically coupled to the first element and radially extending from the perimeter of the first half of the bisected first element toward the second element, the sixth element electrically coupled to the first element and radially extending from the perimeter of the second half of the bisected first element toward the second element.
- 5. The body implantable lead of claim 4, wherein the first element, the second element, the third element, the fourth element, the fifth element, and the sixth element are each an electrically conductive coil electrode.
- 6. The body implantable lead of claim 5, wherein each electrically conductive coil electrode includes an interior surface defining an interior space which extends along a longitudinal axis of the electrically conductive coil electrode, wherein the interior space includes a biasing means to maintain structural stability of the electrically conductive coil electrode.
- 7. The body implantable lead of claim 6, wherein the biasing means includes a spring wire.
- 8. The body implantable lead of claim 6, wherein the biasing means includes a silicone member.
