Claims
- 1. An elongated circular braided composite structure from a plurality of fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin strands which interlace each other and pass through the structure in a helical path, the strands passing through the structure having a local crimp of less than 3 percent.
- 2. The braided composite of claim 1, the strands passing through the structure having a local crimp of less than 1 percent.
- 3. An elongated composite braided structure comprising a multi-layer array of axial fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin strands extending longitudinally in the structure and braiding fiber reinforced resin strands that interlace each other in a repeating two-step pattern wherein each of said braiding strands extend in diagonal paths completely through the array to the outer periphery of the structure to a reversal point in one step of the pattern before any of said braiding strands extend in another diagonal direction from said reversal point to another reversal point in another step of the pattern, said braiding strands in said diagonal paths having less than 10 percent local crimp.
- 4. The braided composite of claim 3, said braiding strands in said diagonal paths leaving less than 3 percent local crimp.
