Claims
- 1. Seed of corn inbred line designated WICY418C, representative seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-2925.
- 2. A corn plant, or a part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1.
- 3. Pollen of the plant of claim 2.
- 4. An ovule of the plant of claim 2.
- 5. A corn plant, or a part thereof, having all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the corn plant according to claim 2.
- 6. A tissue culture of regenerable cells from the corn plant of claim 2.
- 7. The tissue culture according to claim 6, wherein the regenerable cells of the maize plant are from tissue obtained from leaf, pollen, embryo, root, root tip, anther, silk, flower, kernel, ear, cob, husk, or stalk.
- 8. A corn plant regenerated from the tissue culture of claim 6, having all the morphological and physiological characteristics of inbred line WICY418C, seed of said inbred line having been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-2925.
- 9. A method for producing a hybrid corn seed comprising crossing a first inbred parent corn plant with a second inbred parent corn plant and harvesting the resultant hybrid corn seed, wherein said first inbred parent corn plant or second said parent corn plant is the corn plant of claim 2.
- 10. A method for producing a WICY418C-derived corn plant, comprising:a) crossing inbred corn line WICY418C, representative seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-2925, with a second corn plant to yield progeny corn seed; and b) growing said progeny corn seed to yield said WICY418C-derived corn plant.
- 11. A maize plant or part thereof produced from the maize plant according to claim 2 or 5, by transformation with a transgene that confers upon said maize plant or part thereof tolerance to a herbicide.
- 12. A maize plant according to claim 11, wherein said herbicide is glyphosate, gluphosinate, a sulfonylurea herbicide, or an imidazolinone herbicide.
- 13. A maize plant or a part thereof produced from the maize plant according to claim 2 or 5, by transformation with an expression vector comprising a transgene that confers upon said maize plant or a part thereof insect resistance, disease resistance or virus resistance.
- 14. The maize plant according to claim 13, wherein said transgene is a Bacillus thuringiensis gene.
