Claims
- 1. An isolated nucleic acid promoter comprising nucleotides 1 to 862 of SEQ ID NO: 3.
- 2. The promoter according to claim 1, wherein the promoter is induced following treatment with a SAR-induction chemical or a pathogen.
- 3. The promoter according to claim 2, wherein the SAR-induction chemical is salicylic acid (SA) or benzo(1,2,3)thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid S-methyl ester (BTH).
- 4. The promoter according to claim 2, wherein the pathogen is Pseudomonas syringae.
- 5. A chimeric gene comprising the promoter according to claim 1 operatively linked to a coding sequence of interest.
- 6. A recombinant vector comprising the chimeric gene of claim 5.
- 7. A transgenic host cell comprising the chimeric gene of claim 5.
- 8. A transgenic host cell according to claim 7, which is a transgenic plant cell.
- 9. A transgenic plant comprising the transgenic plant cell of claim 8.
- 10. Transgenic seed from the transgenic plant according to claim 8, wherein the seed comprises the chimeric gene.
