Claims
- 1. An induction motor rotor for use in a seal-less pump and electric motor assembly, the induction motor rotor comprising:induction motor rotor shaft; induction motor rotor core including a molded magnetic powder and plastic composite material surrounding the induction motor rotor shaft; and an annular corrosion resistant electrically conductive tube surrounding the induction motor rotor core for use in starting and running the induction motor rotor.
- 2. The induction motor rotor of claim 1 wherein the magnetic powder and plastic composite material includes iron particles coated by polyetherimide.
- 3. The induction motor rotor of claim 1 wherein the electrically conductive tube includes an aluminum coated by aluminum oxide.
- 4. An induction motor rotor comprising:an induction motor rotor shaft; an induction motor rotor core including a molded magnetic powder and plastic composite material including iron particles coated by polyetherimide, the induction motor rotor core surrounding the induction motor rotor shaft; and an annular corrosion resistant electrically conductive tube including aluminum coated by aluminum oxide, the electrically conductive tube surrounding the induction motor rotor core for use in starting and running the induction motor rotor.
- 5. An induction motor rotor for use in a seal-less pump and electric motor assembly, the induction motor rotor comprising:a corrosion resistant induction motor rotor shaft; an induction motor rotor core surrounding the induction motor rotor shaft, the induction motor rotor core comprising a molded magnetic powder comprising (a) particle material selected from the group consisting of iron, steel, ferrite, nickel, and cobalt, and (b) plastic composite material selected from the group consisting of polymers and epoxies; and an annular corrosion resistant electrically conductive tube surrounding the induction motor rotor core for use in starting and running the induction motor rotor.
- 6. The induction motor rotor of claim 5 wherein the rotor shaft and the electrically conductive tube each comprise aluminum.
