The present invention relates generally to the field of bedding. More specifically, the present invention relates to an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that can be inflated to provide an angled sleeping surface for a user. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
Individuals with lower back issues or those who prefer sleeping at an elevated angle may lack the means to do so, especially while away from home. Said individuals may elevate themselves with multiple pillows while at home, but this may not be possible if a person needs to travel and sleep in a hotel. Further, individuals with sinus issues may be unable to sleep comfortably if they cannot be elevated at an angle. Additionally, those with sleep apnea or other respiratory conditions may find it difficult to breathe properly without elevation, as being in a reclined position can help in keeping the airways open and reduce the severity of these issues.
Unfortunately, not all hotels or accommodations provide adjustable beds or enough pillows to create this necessary elevation. This leads to uncomfortable nights and can exacerbate health issues for travelers. Furthermore, even in their own homes, individuals may find it challenging to achieve the correct angle of elevation without investing in specialized furniture or accessories, which can be costly and may not be covered by insurance. This presents a significant challenge for those who require elevation for a good night's sleep or health reasons, as it affects their ability to travel, visit family and friends, or even just get a comfortable night's sleep in their own home.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an elevation device. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that provides an elevated sleeping surface. Further, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that provides an elevated sleeping surface wherein the device can be easily transported. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that provides a customizable level of elevation while sleeping.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device. The device is comprised of an inflatable body that has an angled sleeping surface. The body can be inflated manually or via an integrated pump. As a result, the body can be easily transported while deflated and then inflated when used. Once inflated, a user can sleep on the angled sleeping surface.
In this manner, the inflatable angled sleeping wedge device of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that provides an elevated sleeping surface. Further, the provides an elevated sleeping surface wherein the device can be easily transported when deflated. Further, the inflation capability of the device provides a customizable level of elevation while sleeping.
The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device comprised of an inflatable body that is generally triangular in shape. As a result, the body can be inflated to create an angled, elevated sleeping surface by placing the device on a bed. The body is preferably generally triangular and may be in the form of a right, acute, or obtuse triangle that creates an angled top surface that a user can sleep on. To ensure uniform inflation of the body, any surface of the body may be comprised of at least one internal frame. The frame is preferably in the form of a tapered string. The frame may be spaced at any interval on any surface of the body.
In one embodiment, the body can be manually inflated. In this embodiment, the body is comprised of at least one valve. The valve can be used to manually inflate and/or deflate the body. This can be done via a user blowing into the valve or using a manual pump to inflate the body. In a different embodiment, the body is comprised of an integrated pump. The pump may have at least one button that can be used to activate the pump in order to inflate or deflate the body.
The present invention is also comprised of a method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of an inflatable body comprised of at least one valve. Then, at least one cap of the valve of the body can be opened to allow a user to manually inflate the body via blowing into the valve or attaching a pump to the valve and using the pump to inflate the body. Then, the body can be positioned on a bed such that the top surface provides an angled sleeping surface for a user. A user can then sleep on the surface. When finished sleeping, a user can deflate the body via the valve and/or pump and place the deflated body into a bag for transport/storage.
The present invention is also comprised of a second method of using the device. First, a device is provided comprised of a body that is inflatable via at least one integrated pump of the body. Then, the pump can be activated via at least one button to inflate the body. Then, the body can be positioned on a bed such that the top surface provides an angled sleeping surface for a user. A user can then sleep on the surface. When finished sleeping, a user can deflate the body via pressing the button to activate the pump and place the deflated body into a bag for transport/storage.
Accordingly, the inflatable angled sleeping wedge device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides an inflatable angled sleeping wedge device that provides an elevated sleeping surface. Further, the provides an elevated sleeping surface wherein the device can be easily transported when deflated. Further, the inflation capability of the device provides a customizable level of elevation while sleeping. In this manner, the inflatable angled sleeping wedge device overcomes the limitations of existing methods and devices used to create an elevated sleeping surface known in the art.
