Claims
- 1. A game glove including:
- a front layer and a back layer with a hand space between the layers and forming a major region for receiving the fingers of the wearer and a minor region for receiving the thumb of the wearer, a cut-out formed in the back layer, a fabric insert located in the cut-out for increased flexibility, the cut-out and insert extending essentially vertically between the major and minor regions, the cut-out and insert also extending essentially horizontally into the major region;
- an opening along one edge of the glove for the passage of the hand of a wearer into the hand space;
- a bladder positioned in the hand space behind the wearer's hand, the bladder having a major portion in the major region of the glove immediately above the wearer's knuckles and a minor portion in the minor region of the glove adjacent to the wearer's thumb and an intermediate portion therebetween, the intermediate portion including an enlarged part position over an extended portion of the back of the wearer's hand between the knuckles and wrist; and
- a pump system comprising a diaphragm formed of a resilient material capable of being depressed and released by the wearer, a first valve and a second valve, the valve being axially aligned and coupled with the diaphragm on opposite sides thereof, the first valve positioned to allow for the one way flow of air to the bladder from the diaphragm upon depression thereof, the second valve positioned to allow for the one way flow of air from atmosphere to interior of the diaphragm upon release thereof, and a release valve associated therewith which when depressed will relieve the air pressure from the bladder.
- 2. A game glove formed of a front layer and a back layer to define a hand space between the layers, the glove having a opening along one edge for the passage of the hand of the wearer into the hand space, the glove also having a major region for receiving the fingers of the wearer and a laterally disposed minor region for receiving the thumb of the wearer, a generally vertical opening in the back layer with a fabric insert to increase the flexibility between the major and minor regions.
- 3. The game glove as set forth in claim 2 and further including a generally horizontal opening in the back layer with a fabric insert extending laterally from the vertical opening and insert.
- 4. The game glove as set forth in claim 3 wherein the laterally disposed cut out and fabric insert taper to a narrower width at an edge of the glove remote from the vertical opening.
- 5. The game glove as set forth in claim 2 and further including a webbing in the glove between the major and minor portions with additional cut-outs and insert fabric on opposite sides of the webbing.
- 6. The game glove as set forth in claim 4 and also including further cut-outs with insert fabric in the webbing between the additional cut-outs.
- 7. The game glove as set forth in claim 2 and further including a pocket in the center of the front layer extending upwardly from the opening.
- 8. The game glove as set forth in claim 7 and further including cut-outs and fabric inserts in the front layer adjacent to the edge of the glove on opposite sides of the pocket.
- 9. For use in a game glove to increase the support of the glove to a wearer's hand, an improved bladder having a major portion and a minor portion with a coupling portion therebetween, the coupling portion having an enlarged part positionable over the majority of the back of the wearer's hand between the wrist and knuckles.
- 10. The bladder as set forth in claim 9 wherein the coupling portion also includes a part in an arcuate configuration extending upwardly toward the knuckles of the wearer's index finger.
- 11. The bladder as set forth in claim 9 wherein the major portion includes three finger sections extending between the wearer's knuckles to the next adjacent finger joints.
- 12. The bladder as set forth in claim 11 wherein the minor portion includes one thumb section with a pump system at the upper extent thereof.
- 13. The bladder as set forth in claim 9 and further including a plurality of quilting dots in the thumb section and a single quilting dot in each finger section.
- 14. For use in a game glove with a bladder to increase the support of the glove to a wearer's hand, an improved pump system for inflating and deflating the bladder, the pump system comprising a diaphragm formed of a resilient material with a hollow interior capable of being depressed and released by the wearer, a first valve and a second valve, the valves being axially aligned and coupled with the diaphragm on opposite sides thereof, the first valve adapted to allow for the one way flow of air to the bladder from the diaphragm upon depression thereof, the second valve adapted to allow the one way flow of air from atmosphere to the interior of the diaphragm upon release thereof, and a release valve associated therewith which when depressed will relieve the air pressure from the bladder.
- 15. The pump system as set forth in claim 14 wherein the release valve is located adjacent to the first valve and remote from the diaphragm.
- 16. The pump system as set forth in claim 15 and further including a housing positionable in a game glove supporting the release valve, the first valve and a tube releasably coupling the diaphragm and the first valve.
