Claims
- 1. A hybrid inflator comprising:(a) a vessel for the storage of a gas; and (b) a gas heater composition wherein said gas heater composition consisting essentially of: (i) 5-AT as fuel, at a concentration of from about 15 to 35 weight %; (ii) strontium nitrate as oxidizer, at a concentration of from about 50 to 80 weight %; (iii) a metal selected from aluminum, titanium, boron, magnesium and mixtures thereof at a concentration of about 5 to 15 weight %; and (iv) a processing aid selected from silicon dioxide, mica, boron nitride, talc, molybdenum disulfide, metal stearate salts and mixtures thereof at a concentration greater than 0 and up to about 7 weight %.
- 2. The inflator according to claim 1 wherein said metal is aluminum.
- 3. The inflator according to claim 1 wherein said processing aid is a mixture of mica at a concentration of about 2 weight % and boron nitride at a concentration of about 1 weight %.
- 4. The inflator according to claim 2 wherein said 5-AT is present at a concentration of about 26 weight %, said strontium nitrate is present at a concentration of about 64 weight % and said aluminum is present at a concentration of about 7 weight %.
