Claims
- 1. An information processing system comprising;
- a main memory;
- a video RAM;
- a display device coupled to the video RAM;
- a bus coupled to the main memory and the video RAM; and
- a video capture device coupled to the bus,
- the video capture device including an input unit which receives analog video data being composed of a plurality of frames and which digitizes the analog video data to digital video data and a transfer unit which transfers a part of the digital data representing a frame to the main memory in a YUV format and which transfers a remainder of the digital data representing the frame to the video RAM in a RGB format.
- 2. An information processing system according to claim 1, wherein the part of the digital data is either one of odd field data or even field data, and wherein the remainder of the digital data is another of the odd field data or even field data.
- 3. An information processing system according to claim 1, wherein the video capture device further comprises a scaling unit which scales the part of the digital data and the remainder of the digital data independently.
- 4. An information processing system according to claim 1, wherein a combination of the part of the digital data and the remainder of the digital data represents a frame displayed by the display device.
- 5. An information processing system according to claim 3, wherein the scaling unit scales the part of digital data and the remainder of the digital data while maintaining an aspect ratio of the frame.
- 6. An information processing system according to claim 1, wherein the transfer unit carries out a direct memory access transfer.
- 7. An information processing system comprising:
- a main memory;
- a video RAM;
- a display device coupled to the video RAM;
- a bus coupled to the main memory and the video RAM; and
- a video capture device coupled to the bus,
- the video capture device including an input unit which receives analog video data being composed of a plurality of frames and which digitizes the analog video data to digital video data and a transfer unit which direct memory transfers a part of the digital data representing a frame to the main memory in a YUV format and which transfers a remainder of the digital data representing the frame to the video RAM in a RGB format.
- 8. An information processing system according to claim 7, wherein the part of the digital data is one of odd field data and even field data, and wherein the remainder of the digital data is another of the odd field data and even field data.
- 9. An information processing system according to claim 7, wherein the video capture device further comprises a scaling unit which scales the part of the digital data and the remainder of the digital data independently.
- 10. An information processing system according to claim 7, wherein the combination of the part of the digital data and the remainder of the digital data represents a frame displayed by the display device.
- 11. An information processing system according to claim 9, wherein the scaling unit scales the part of digital data and the remainder of the digital data while maintaining an aspect ratio of the frame.
