Claims
- 1. A method of treating a lysosomal lipid storage disease selected from Tay-Sachs disease, Gaucher disease, Krabbe disease, or Fabry disease, comprising administering an effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol to a subject with the lysosomal lipid storage disease.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the subject is a human.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol is delivered to the subject's liver to reduce lipid accumulation.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the lysosomal lipid storage disease is Tay-Sachs disease.
- 5. The method of claim 4, wherein the effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol is achieved in the subject's brain.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the lysosomal lipid storage disease is Gaucher disease.
- 7. The method of claim 6, wherein the effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol is achieved in the subject's liver.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the lysosomal lipid storage disease is Krabbe disease.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol is achieved in the subject's liver.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein the lysosomal lipid storage disease is Fabry disease.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the effective amount of N-nonyl-1,5-dideoxy-1,5-imino-D-glucitol is achieved in the subject's liver.
