Claims
- 1. An injection locked oscillator (ILO) comprising:means for varying the input level of a source signal driving said ILO in a predetermined ratio during predetermined periods; and means for varying a tuning parameter controlling the center frequency of said ILO in accordance with a difference between values of a phase parameter each measured during one of said predetermined periods, the phase parameter being related to the output phase of said ILO.
- 2. The injection locked oscillator of claim 1 further comprising:means for measuring the phase of the output of said ILO during said predetermined periods; and means for determining the magnitude and sign of said phase difference.
- 3. The injection locked oscillator of claim 2 wherein said means for varying a tuning parameter further comprises means for increasing the center frequency proportionally to the magnitude of a positive phase difference and decreasing the center frequency proportionally to the magnitude of a negative phase difference.
- 4. The injection locked oscillator of claim 2 wherein said means for measuring the phase comprises an analog to digital converter.
- 5. The injection locked oscillator of claim 2 wherein said means for determining the magnitude and sign of said phase difference comprises a processor.
